A night of Main Character Energy with Neutrogena® and Nicola Coughlan was held at BAFTA on Wednesday in London, and the Bridgerton actress stepped out in her favourite colour: black.
At this point, I no longer find myself missing Nicola’s bold colour moments because her all-black era is serving just as much drama and intrigue. These outings are anything but boring.
Case in point: this stunning David Koma off-shoulder crepe and velvet dress. We have structure. We have sex appeal. And we have an incredibly flattering design that didn’t need any bells or whistles to make an impact. Nicola’s style has evolved far beyond the fun ballgowns she favoured in her early red carpet days—she’s stepping into a new era of refined, confident dressing that reflects her star power.
As someone who appreciates an illusion panel when it’s done right, I don’t mind that her custom version of this dress features a black panel rather than the sheer design seen on the look. I’d rather it be a seamless, intentional choice than a stark contrast that doesn’t complement her skin tone.
This look is sleek, sophisticated, and a perfect example of how Nicola has embraced a more polished aesthetic. Who needs bright colours when all-black can be this powerful?
