Aubrey Plaza attended ‘Dead Funny: An All-Star Tribute to Joan Rivers’, benefiting God’s Love We Deliver, held at The Victoria Theater in New York City on Thursday. And true to her comedic roots, Aubrey stepped out in a look that has us wondering if there’s a punchline we’re missing.

Wearing a Gucci Fall 2024 dress, Aubrey went for an earthy green sheer lace design accented with velvet cups and multi-coloured floral appliques. The dress itself is a mix of textures and details, which brings an eclectic feel to the look. But, honestly? I just don’t get it. On Aubrey and in general terms.

And then there’s the choker, which only adds to the overall sense of confusion.

Given her comedic background, perhaps she’s playing with fashion as a form of self-expression or irony. Or maybe she’s simply having fun with an unconventional look that nods to Joan Rivers’ humour which we all loved on Fashion Police.
