Conan Gray Wore Harris Reed & Valentino Haute Couture For The 2022 MTV VMAs
Conan Gray served up two looks for the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Sunday (August 28).
The musician, who has incomparable style, wore a Harris Reed Spring 2022 look that of course featured his go-to sky-high platform boots. This pair are the Marc Jacobs Spring 2017 silver lurex Kiki boots.
I adore the ethereal nature of the cropped blazer, for its dreamy, lighter than air quality, although some might liken the train to net curtains.
When it comes to his black flares, I’m glad to see that flares are making such a stylish comeback.
But I do wonder in Conan’s case if this is a practical, functional consideration when you take his obsession with platforms into account.
You’ll either feel that the lace gloves, Swarovski necklace, Anabela Chan black diamond earrings and Dries van Noten neckpiece were overkill, or that they come together to round out a very well-styled look.
I adore this from head-to-toe. I’m not sure when I became converted to liking platforms, but they work in this case.
For Conan’s performance, the musician changed into a Valentino Fall 2022 Haute Couture ruffled look from The Beginning collection.
If your first thought was, “I bet he’s housing a pair of Valentino Garavani ‘Tan-Go’ platforms under those ruffles,” you are not alone.
This is the third look from Conan that I have featured, and it is clear that the musician loves a free flowing moment.
I’m excited to see more from Conan.
