Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge Wore Alexander McQueen For Her 40th Birthday Portraits
To mark her 40th birthday, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge released three new portraits, taken by fashion photographer Paolo Roversi.
In all three pictures, the Duchess is wearing Alexander McQueen dresses, as well as earrings that belonged to Diana, Princess of Wales, and others loaned by the Queen.
Catherine thanked people for their “very kind birthday wishes” and Paolo Roversi for “these three special portraits”.
The images were taken at Kew Gardens back in November and will form part of a project from the National Portrait Gallery where the duchess is patron.
In an interview with the Italian publication Corriere Della Sera, Paolo Roversi revealed that to get the three images, he took “250 shots almost all in black and white.”
That number was winnowed down to “about 70,” and eventually to the three that were shared with the public. Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis even helped to make the final selection.
