Grimes Wore Iris Van Herpen Haute Couture To The 2021 Met Gala

Grimes was back on the red carpet for the 2021 Met Gala on Sunday (September 13).

Her red carpet look needs no introduction, as it’s instantly recognisable as an Iris Van Herpen Haute Couture look.

The performer’s custom creation, featuring intertwining mirrored waves, was already breath-taking, but when you add the gradient-dyed skirt from white to black that’s where the drama really kicks in.

On the red carpet she said her look was ‘Dune-esqe’ and that her mask was borrowed from the film; so some might say she’s a superfan.

As for the sword, it appears to be for decoration.

There was a period when Iris Van Herpen red carpet looks were almost a weekly occurrence and some people were finding themselves fatigued by the brand.
