Jodie Turner-Smith Wore Christopher John Rogers Promoting ‘Anne Boleyn’

‘Anne Boleyn’ aired in the UK this week, and while viewers praised Jodie Turner-Smith’s performance, others couldn’t get past the historical inaccuracies.

Jodie takes the lead as King Henry VIII’s second wife in the Channel 5 series, which has been described as a reimagining of the real-life story of Anne Boleyn.

Instead of praising her acting, some can’t get past the fact that Jodie is a Black woman portraying the white royal.

Sticking with fashion. I’m going to use the most overused phrase.

“I wasn’t ready.”

I really wasn’t.

Unlike most of you I wasn’t 100% sold on this Christopher John Rogers Spring 2021 look when presented by Jasmine Cephas Jones last week.

But when it comes to Jodie’s restyling of the look book, I’m left in awe.

The level of elevation is beyond admirable by taking the Christopher John Rogers puffball skirt and making the look her own.  This is the very definition of styling, over dressing for me.

This is what I want to see, because if I was in the market to buy this skirt, I wouldn’t style it with the matching top.

Jodie shows me the possibilities by going outside the box.

Almasika jewels and red strappy sandals completed this breath-taking look.
