Tori Kelly performed a rendition of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ in grand style to open the 2021 Kentucky Derby on Saturday (May 1) at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky.
There’s a lot going on with this Marc Jacobs Spring 2021 maxi dress with the abundance of ruffles, floral print and Christine A. Moore Millinery fascinator, and for that reason most won’t warm to this look, but I’m here for this more is more energy.
Florals aren’t always understated; they can be beautifully bold as well.
Having watched a video of her performance, I loved how the ruffles offered a motion that was endlessly elegant and carefree.
For day 2, the Grammy winner attended as a guest, but that didn’t see her dial down her ensemble.
On this occasion she wore a look featuring my favourite colour combo; yellow and blue.
Some might call this look cheesy, but for this embodies a Derby Day look, even though I can’t say I’m a huge fan of the mustard half gloves, or the gold platforms.
The fancy floral Stella McCartney dress which features an archive print from the Spring 2010 collection, bag and Christine A. Moore Millinery hat were perfectly on point.
