Kelsea Ballerini was nominated as one of the Female Vocalists of the year for the 2020 (ACM) Academy of Country Music Awards that was held at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee, which aired on Wednesday (September 16).
This event was due to take place in its usual slot of early Spring – April – but obviously due to the pandemic it was pushed back to August – when it was taped.
I’m usually a big fan of Kelsea’s style but, what in the Wilma Flintstone is this?
I get that she’s the cool girl of country music, but this Raisa Vanessa Fall 2020 look doesn’t work for me in 2020.
Would it work in the ’80s?
Yes. This shoulder pad heavy, sequin drenched look would’ve been perfect back then, but everything about this look screams dated to me, including the drape.
As you know I do love ’80s fashion. We’ve seen many celebrities pay homage to that era many times with success, but this dress was executed terribly in my opinion.
Dated, with none of the good nostalgic vibes of the ’80s.
I’m really disappointed in Kelsea. The only thing I love here are the boots.
