Jennifer Hudson Wore Reem Acra For The 2020 BET Awards

Jennifer Hudson Wore Reem Acra For The 2020 BET Awards

For the first time on its 20th anniversary, the BET Awards – hosted by ‘Insecure’ star Amanda Seales – was presented virtually due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic on Sunday (June 28).

Jennifer Hudson channelled the Queen of Soul (Aretha Franklin) for an incredible performance of ‘Young, Gifted and Black.’

From the moment she began seated at a piano I got goosebumps.

Then my senses were heightened further once her stunning vocals kicked in.

She sounded as beautiful as ever, as she hit one gorgeous note after another.

And it wasn’t only the music that was a hit, her dress was too.

You can’t step onto an stage singing an Aretha Franklin without a look fit for a diva, and she didn’t disappoint wearing a Reem Acra Fall 2020 green velvet one shoulder kaftan-style gown.

Opting for only stud earrings was the perfect choice, as the embellished neckline plus the dazzling fishnet yoke and sleeve weren’t overpowered.

Albert Morrison teased Jennifer’s locs into an elegant updo, while makeup artist Adam Burrell opted for neutral tones with dramatic cat-eyes.

I can’t wait to see Jennifer play the Aretha Franklin in the film ‘Respect,’ when it’s released later this year.
