Danai Gurira Wore Another Fringed Gabriela Hearst Look To The 2nd Annual CARE Impact Awards Dinner

Danai Gurira In Gabriela Hearst - 2nd Annual CARE Impact Awards Dinner

Danai Gurira was one of the honourees for the 2nd Annual CARE Impact Awards dinner held at the Mandarin Oriental on Thursday (November 21) in New York City.

As we know, the actress has a thing for fringed dresses, as worn to the 2019 AFI Awards and most recently ‘The Walking Dead’ LA screening.

On this occasion she turned heads in one of her favourite designers – Gabriela Hearst – who designed this colourful silk cording dress which she actress wore with black trousers.

I love how this offers a dazzling take on the classic evening dress.

Shaped to flatter in a body-hugging silhouette, I adore how the piece gracefully flourishes into an enchanting fringed skirt.

I’m not sure what Gabriela Hearst’s inspiration was for her Spring 2020 collection, but the mix of colours closely resembles an African tribal print here.

Studded sandals and sleek updo completed Danai’s look, along with Gabriela Hearst silver and pink quartz rings.

I like this…it looks great with her skin tone…beautiful! I do wish the bodice was fitted a bit better.

And, an aside…why would someone use the phrase “boner killer” to describe any look on this site? That is repulsive.

ugh. nope. i don’t like the fit at the bust. or the keyhole.
the color pattern drives me nuts too.
theres nothing working here for me.

I love this look. Danai’s style is much more interesting than she gets credit for. She dresses how I wish Olivia Coleman would…but of course Olivia couldn’t pull off half of what Danai wears but you get what I mean.

No to the keyhole. It ruins the whole look.

Love this look. I think the “pants” are actually just a slip. I read on their Instagram when they posted this runway image that the dress is comprised of upcyled fabrics from past collections all woven together, pretty cool

The pants and the keyhole are a turn down IMO.

Love the dress!!! But the pants? Really? Are they necessary? I am finding them to be a real buzz kill/boner killer.

Boner killer? Really, that seems like a good phrase to use on this blog.

She looks great, it looks way better on her than on the runaway IMO.

I love the look. BDOTW worthy. It makes me think of an abstract art print that been shredded and reconstructed into a lovely dress.
