Tessa Thompson’s New Style Direction In Loewe For The ‘Lady And A Tramp’ New York Screening

Tessa Thompson's New Direction In Loewe For The 'Lady And A Tramp' New York Screening

Tessa Thompson attended the Disney+ screening of ‘Lady And A Tramp’ in New York on Tuesday (October 22).

Now you all know how much I love Tessa. So this is going to sting. So let’s rip this off like a band-aid.

Tessa’s dare to be different style has always grabbed my attention in a positive way, but I strongly feel like this Loewe Spring 2020 outfit was all wrong for her.

I’m getting flashbacks from her Marc Jacobs Spring 2019 look.

The problem are the trousers. Talk about stumptifying.

We all know how petite Tessa is. But usually – like for the ‘Creed II’ London premiere – it’s not apparent.

Sadly, this outfit is wearing her.

I don’t have one positive thing to say about it. Much to my extreme disappointment.

Sadly reminds me of Pennywise the dancing clown. I watched “IT chapter II” a few days ago.

The trumpet of the pants is the problem. They needed to be straight.

She would have been better just wearing the jacket with leather leggings.

I could actually see that. And very high heeled barely there sandals

I’m getting Saturday Night Fever vibes!! Very unflattering and clown like. Big no for me!!!

Terrible terrible outfit. Looks like clown clothes.

I can applaud her for committing to exciting, directional looks, but once again, this just makes no sense.

Marian Cotillard’s Cannes Balmain look may have some competition for WDOTY.

Tessa is deep into clown couture now.

The outfit is pretty crazy and can only look passable on someone who is tall or long-legged and very slim (you need the distance between the ruffles at the hips and ankles). On 5′ 4″ Tessa, it throws off her proportions to the point of being comical.

    NO (Meghan trainor voice)

Probably the only person who could pull this off is Prince, R.I.P…it’s quite comedic on Tessa.

Looking at this all I can think is pantomime.

There is nothing good about this. Nothing.

This looks like a bad suit from the 70’s.

  15. Los_NGLS October 23, 2019 at 3:28 pm #

This would work excellently as part of a fancy clown costume!

    What in the hillbilly?

With the ruffles and exaggerated collar, she’s giving me more court jester than fashionista. I usually love her bold choices, too. But this is a hell no, for me.

    • Jess Mara October 24, 2019 at 2:42 am #

      Agreed….HELL NO!!!

    The pants are hidesous.
The jacket with some black pants could have worked.

    Hard pass.
