Queen Maxima Wears Her Go-To Designer Jan Taminiau For Prinsjesdag

Queen Maxima of The Netherlands attended Prinsjesdag (Prince’s Day) 2019, on Tuesday (September 17).

Indian summer or not, the Queen is clearly ready for Fall judging by this wine-coloured gown.

And what a stunning piece it is, created by Dutch designer Jan Taminiau.

The pair are really a match made in fashion heaven.

I still get shivers when I think back to her 2013 Jan Taminiau blue gown for the inauguration Of King Willem Alexander.

On this occasion there was no cape, just beautifully beaded caped shoulders which matched her clutch.

The Queen is partial to a fabulous hat, especially one that complements her look like this felt beret by royal-loved milliner Philip Treacy.

The queen looks really regal, lovely colour and bead work. However, the dress needed a little hemming, and although I do like the beret, I think a fascinator would have worked better here.

I think she looks lovely, but to me it was all a bit too much: the hat, the gloves, the cape … And in other pictures you can see that she wore a tad too much rouge.

I really like her style. For this dress, I would not mind if it had been hemmed a bit. Also, the hat does not really work with the dress. If a hat was required for some sort of royal protocol, I think something simpler might have worked better. The beading on the dress and the matching bag are quite nice touches and not overdone.

I wish she had left the hat for another occasion.

She has to wear a hat on this event, so she did not really had a choice.

She could have selected a different hat or a fascinator though.

It’s a wonderfully rich and stunning color that matches her dress impeccably. Funny, it’s the same one Meghan Markle wore on that Christmas Day event except in brown, but it did remind me of the emoji poop ?. This version fits her well as Meghan’s seemed too large for her head.

One of my favorite on her was the dress for King Willem-Alexander’s 50th birthday party. She’s impressing me every time. This color is a good choice for her. Love the beaded part.

Wow !!! She is probably the best dressed royal of all time. Mary might give her a run for her money but Maxima gives me chills every time.
