Cardi B’s Dsquared² Next Level Ugly Sneakers

What is an ugly sneaker?

It’s classed as an unattractive running shoes with disproportionately large soles, padding, tongues and grooves that, when worn, are deciphered as cooly ironic, not dreadfully sincere.

It became one of the weirdest trends of 2018, but what’s stranger still is the amount of designers which jumped on the trend.

We’ve seen Louis Vuitton’s ‘Archlight’ sneakers, Balenciaga’s ‘Triple S’ sneakers, Prada’s scuba shoe and just this week Tom Ford announced the launch of their own ‘Jago’ sneakers.

However, Cardi B showed on her Instagram this week that there is one ugly sneaker that trumps ALL others; the Dsquared2 Frankenstein sneakers which look like a combination of wedges and running shoes.

While these make me recoil in horror, I feel like this is only the beginning, and perhaps next season we will see more brands jump on this trend.

Have any of you been seduced by the “yet?

Besides the fact that the shoes are beyond awful and were probably made to draw attention to the brand, I wonder how some women can define Cardi B “classy”.

Stop trying to make yourselves being relevant in the sneakers industry by creating ugly ass, irrelevant sneakers. These pictures are hurting my eyes😂 Also, with those overpriced tags, I could get at least combination pairs of Nike, Adidas, Puma or New Balance altogether that are actually useful as both casual and sports sneakers. Ugh.

These are things from fashion nightmares though some those ugly sneakers are actually quite comfortable.

There’s nothing wrong with loving fashion and spending money on clothing you love but the idea that we would spend hundreds of dollars on intentionally hideous shoes with half the world living in poverty makes me cringe. Can they not find a less ridiculous way to be tongue in cheek?
