Fan Bingbing In Alexis Mabille Haute Couture – ‘Ash Is The Purest White (Jiang Hu Er Nv) Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Fan Bingbing proved that drama and elegance can live harmoniously on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival premiere of ‘Ash Is The Purest White (Jiang Hu Er Nv)’ this evening (May 10).

The Asian beauty was radiant once again in Alexis Mabille Spring 2018 Couture.

What I love most about this look is the lack of sequins and sheerness.

Aside from Cate Blanchett, this is the only time where architectural brilliance has come out to play.

I’m going back and forth with the gold Edie Parker ‘Wolf’ clutch as I wish it had been black.

De Beers jewels completed her look.

“What I love most about this look is the lack of sequins and sheerness.” I couldn’t agree more and I’ve been saying the same for some time here. The Lebanese and alikes designers overused the bling, women were looking like Christmas trees.
I love this. The structure of the skirt and simplicity of lines makes the fabric “speak” for itself.

I love the dress but the clutch is distracting.

  3. Alina May 12, 2018 at 09:58 #

    Oh, this is charming!

Its nice. Im not overly excited but Im not disliking it. I like the design of it but not the stiff looking fabric or color.
Overall, its good that someones trying something even a tiny bit different.

I agree. I cannot wholeheartedly love it due to his colour.

    Love this. So refreshing.
There’s some minor flaw but as always her precense made up for it big time.

love this,a class act like she always is.
I tend to ignore that Montblanc watch

  7. Fee May 12, 2018 at 00:24 #

I want to love this so much, but the colour just washes her out and I can’t get past it.

  8. Bella May 12, 2018 at 00:19 #

I wish it’s lipstick pink to match the rosette shoulder or more refreshing turquoise instead this color wash her pale skin out.

I personally very like the color choice of the clutch. It made the whole look quite fresh and unpredictable.
If the clutch were black, the whole look will be grey/green and black. It would be much more boring than right now.
Kudos to her stylist, I really enjoy seeing Fan playing risky and ruling the red carpet.

I love the form of the gown but despite its colour it lacks the lustre captured in the lookbook and is too long on her which makes the skirt fall oddly. (Though that does hide the shoes)

Finally some DRAMA! I agree the clutch is a bit odd, but overall still love love love. Reminds me of Fan’s first time at Cannes when she wore that black Armani dress. I love when she is making bold choices

I don’t like this dress at all

  13. Chris May 11, 2018 at 21:52 #

The silhouette definitely makes an impact, but I’m not a fan of the fabric…

  14. Vizual Ninja May 11, 2018 at 21:29 #

I wish it billowed the way it does on the runway but I appreciate the uniqueness of the dress and think she’s pulls it off.

  15. Fanny May 11, 2018 at 21:28 #

    Love!!!
    (Even the clutch)

  16. DEDEL May 11, 2018 at 21:26 #

Love this ! Very refreshing and the rose on the shoulders makes the whole look

  17. ANNA May 11, 2018 at 21:20 #

Love this! Glad to see Fan doing something different. Also happy to see some Mabille work recognition, as I don’t feel like the brand gets nearly as much love as it should.

Beautiful, loving the construction, the gown fits her perfectly and she wears it with supreme elegance, I can live with the gold clutch (it’s not harsh or offensive). My nitpick is that the color is a bit on the dull side, I’m imagining the effect in something like blue, for ex., but this is minor, this is a great look for Fan.

  19. JHH May 11, 2018 at 20:57 #

I love Fan but I am not feeling this one even though I too love the lack of beading and sheerness. I find this dress overly stiff (like Bela’s) and the black ribbon is totally random. And last, the green/grey color is not appealing.

  20. Caroline May 11, 2018 at 20:56 #

    Terrible.

  21. fromchi-town May 11, 2018 at 20:56 #

Beautiful and elegant. This is her best look so far this year at Cannes.

FC – I am furiously refreshing the site to see Deepika’s look.
