Cate Blanchett In Mary Katrantzou – ‘Cold War (Zimna Wojna)’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Cate Blanchett was back on the red carpet at the ‘Cold War (Zimna Wojna)’ Cannes Film Festival premiere on Thursday (May 10) in France.

The president of the Cannes jury was clad in custom Mary Katrantzou which showcased the designer’s mastery of pattern.

The graphic black and white print juxtaposed with the joyous explosion of colour brings to mind an artwork in progress. The design is actually inspired by painting by numbers and builds on a print from Spring 2018.

This dynamic silk faille bespoke dress is a finished work of art with its smattering of sequins and Swarovski crystals hand-placed on the gown for more wow factor.

It’s a unique approach to embellishment and was as striking as any fully beaded style.

Balloon and mullet hems can divisive, but they come together here for an ebullient finish that I think will win over many.

If you are bored with cape gowns, this will be like a breath of fresh air.

Three precious butterfly rings set in colored titanium from Chopard’s Haute Joaillerie Collection and gold Aquazzura Eclipse pumps completed her look.
