Following a meet and greet to launch Gabrielle Union’s new book, ‘We’re Going To Need More Wine’ at BookExpo in New York City on Thursday (June 1), PEOPLE hosted a party to celebrate.

I love how her boldly striped Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2017 midi dress is a modern take on slick city dressing, yet Gabrielle’s effortless styling – which includes Paul Andrew pumps – adds a playful touch.

Leaving the look unbutton gives her look a more relaxed feel making it a perfect day time summer party piece.
