Daisy Ridley In Oscar de la Renta – 2017 Met Gala

Daisy Ridley enjoyed her walk down the blue carpet of the 2017 Met Gala on Monday (May 1) as a first timer at the annual affair.

The ‘Star Wars’ actress wore a custom Oscar de la Renta gown featuring a tiered, high/low hemline with Nirav Modi jewels and ankle-strap pumps.

I love how both perfectly elegant and perfectly modern this gown is, and Daisy is the perfect person to bring it to life. It is definitely a very light take on the night’s theme, but it’s fresh and fun, and I love it.

Perhaps my favorite part about this look is that Daisy is hardly recognizable for me. I love it when stars embrace makeup for how truly transformative it can be, and that’s exactly with Daisy and her makeup artist did. That modern cat eye and the ultra sleek (and Asian-inspired) updo really change up her typical look, and it’s a lovely beauty pairing for the gown.

Great look for this year’s MET Gala theme, however this is far from being her best look – I much preferred the recent Stella McCartney ensemble.

I don’t get this for this occasion and it looks ill-fitted.

    Lovely, but kinda forgettable.

I find the straps made her shoulders seems wider, and the high-low hem dress is so 2013

The dress and styling fall flat (I especially loathe those shoes with the dress). Her face looks the same as always to me.

For custom, they could have gone more directional with the skirt to fit the theme… nice enough tho.

Its fine. She looks nice but underwhelming. Only okay to me.

She looks good, but there was a dress on the runway with this print that was prettier than this custom piece.

This isn’t fresh and isn’t not fun. It’s very boring. Her stylist is Petra Flannery, who is actually one of the most inventive stylists. I am surprised this is what they went for.

Lovely! It feels very cool and modern. I really like it.
