Claire Danes In Monse – 2017 Met Gala

Claire Danes also stepped out early at the 2017 Met Gala on Monday (May 1) in New York City, showing off a perfect indication of why pants might have a moment at this year’s gala.

The white shirting of this Monse Fall 2017 ensemble is a signature of the label.

But I love how designers Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim took the deconstructed, pieced-together and grommet-laced blouse to the next level for Claire with even more defined sculptural ruffles and the addition of a long train.

The top was nearly a gown in and of itself, with the slim black pants playing a subtle supporting role.

Her sleek bun, accessorised by arrow-shaped hair jewelry, provided a necessary sleek finish to the rebelliously classic ensemble that turned the standard-issue white button-down and black trousers on its head.

I like it, mostly because she makes it work. I love the drama of the construction.

I also think the makeup ages her a lot, but it’s not terrible.

On-theme and cool. I like this.

It works on the runaway but on Claire it looks very dated.

Oh, this is a no for me.

claire, dear, next time please tell your glam squad to go light on your eye makeup,it ages you horribly.
as for the dress,it’s fits the theme perfectly but I wish the train is as short as the runway version

THIS is how you take the runway and bring it ON THEME to the Met Gala and not be boring but still true to the celebrity’s style.

On theme, and boy, does she ever suit this kind of look. I love it on her! She looks so badass.
The top stands out and the cape adds that lil extra for the gala. Ya, Im impressed..she took to the theme without going overboard.

The Monse leather pants are instantly recognizable as we’ve just seen them on Karen, but I’m still loving this. I like the addition of the train for more gala-appropriate drama, the look is cool, a bit crazy but still chic which works for the theme but doesn’t take it overboard, and Claire is working it. Thumbs up.

I love how she always respects the theme of the Met Gala with her personal touch of styling. This piece is magnificent, original in its own way and goes according to the theme. Bravo!

+2 (and that is from a person who is not a fan of Monse)

I love how she always embraces the theme with her personal touch. This fashion statement is original in its own way, but at the same time, according to the theme tonight. Bravo!

It’s a bit crazy as well, but I appreciate how she went with the theme. It’s kinda fabulous tbh.

I like this badass look. She makes it work. It definitely pushed the boundary in terms of omme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between theme
