The Paley Center For Media Hosts A Tribute To African-American Achievements In Television

The Paley Center for Media hosted a tribute to African-American achievements in television on Wednesday (May 13) at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.

Kerry Washington: The ‘Scandal’ actress, who has been on a roller coaster ride of red carpet hits and misses, relied on the ubiquitous see-through trend to get by at the event. The netted Self-Portrait black frock was a more vampy entrance for Kerry, so I’m glad she completely embraced it with an oxblood lip.

Gabrielle Union: Significantly sunnier, Gabrielle’s Rosie Assoulin yellow frock was a delightfully radiant colour for her, although I wish the top half of the dress fit a bit more seamlessly. She accessorized the look with Nikos Koulis jewels and Giuseppe Zanotti embellished black heels.

Uzo Aduba: The dramatic nature of this Bibhu Mohapatra Resort 2015 gown with a silhouetted black vine motif was a beautiful look for the actress. Enough was enough when it came to the length of the dress and train, though, falling a bit too long as she stood amidst a sea of diaphanous fabric.

Brandy Norwood: Recently making her Broadway debut in ‘Chicago,’ the star showed off her shoulders in a shimmery black halter gown that was elegantly chic if nothing special. All attention was on her enviable toned arms anyway.
