‘The Bling Ring’ New York Screening

The Bling Ring New York Screening 1

Louis Vuitton hosted the New York screening of ‘The Bling Ring’ in New York City on Tuesday evening at the Paris Theatre.

After praising the stars’ style yesterday, I was disappointed that a few were below par for their New York outing.

Emma Watson: I was crestfallen when I saw this look. While the v-neck low-back frock featuring a slate silk bodice and hem might be flirty or understandable to some, I found the look very sombre and not in keeping with the Emma I know and love. Not even the Ferragamo gold clutch and Christian Louboutin ‘Pivichic’ pvc black-striped pumps could lift this look for me. She completed the look with a Monique Péan ring that showed off her pretty lilac manicure, a dark-crimson lip colour and a side-parted ponytail.

Katie Chang: While I love the deep-emerald hue of her 3.1 Phillip Lim dress, it looks like someone just threw fabric over her and she accented it with a leather waistband. I’m only loving the Jimmy Choo ‘Freya’ booties here.

Sofia Coppola: The director did wearing Louis Vuitton selecting an ivory frock with a sequined front panel and delicate tiered skirt which she styled with matching sandals. Only Sofia can make what would appear to some as am embellished t-shirt dress, look so chic. Not one to usually make too much of a fuss when it comes to makeup, she applied a watermelon-coloured lip shade on this occasion.

Taissa Farmiga: The young actress maintains her 100% record, wearing a pretty Marchesa asymmetrical black lace frock which is very much in keeping with her girlie-girl red carpet style. A black Marchesa clutch with a quartz clasp and Ferragamo peep-toes completed her look.

Claire Julien in Emilio Pucci - The Bling Ring New York Screening

Claire Julien: The blonde beauty continues her love affair with Pucci, wearing a nude chiffon embroidered halterneck dress with a long white tulle overdress accented with intricate button detailing from their Spring 2013 collection. It’s a more daring look in comparison to her co-stars; however, I wish the nude lining had been hemmed to be the same length as the white overlay. Claire styled her look with the same Emilio Pucci cross-strap wedges presented with her dress on the runway, along with opulent drop earrings, an Edie Parker clutch and a braided updo.
