Get The Look: Karlie Kloss’ The PEOPLE Magazine Awards Effortless Updo

Get The Look Karlie Kloss' The PEOPLE Magazine Awards Effortless Updo

Celebrity hairstylist Giannandrea worked with Karlie Kloss for the PEOPLE Magazine Awards on Thursday (December 18).

“I decided to create a modern, effortless updo for Karlie at the PEOPLE Magazine Awards,” said Giannandrea

Here’s how to get the look.

Beginning with wet hair, Giannandrea applied Macadamia Professional Foaming Volumizer to the whole head and blow dried with a large round brush to create volume on top.

Next he used a one-inch curling iron and curled the hair in soft waves. He applied a quarter-sized amount of Macadamia Professional Whipped Detailing Cream and with his hands ran it through the head backwards to create depth and separation.

Using small pins, he twisted the hair and set it into place, pinning it back. He braided the back into a low bun and also twisted it into the rest of the hair, creating a romantic shape. He allowed the flyaways to remain, creating a soft and ethereal look.

He finished with Macadamia Professional Control Working Spray.

The PEOPLE Magazine Awards Red Carpet Roundup

The PEOPLE Magazine Awards

Here is a roundup of the other attendees who took to the red carpet for the PEOPLE Magazine Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Thursday (December 18) in Beverly Hills, California.

Jennifer Aniston: Still not able to fully break away from her favourite colour black, the actress collected her ‘Movie Performance of the Year’ award for ‘Horrible Bosses 2′ wearing a black and white fit-and-flare Fausto Puglisi Spring 2015 dress. The silhouette may be different, but why does everything feel the same?

Karlie Kloss: The catwalker took home the ‘Model of the Year’ award looking very beautiful and statuesque wearing a sexy Zac Posen bustier and laser-cut pony-skin Marchesa skirt styled with sexy Giuseppe Zanotti Design criss-cross strap sandals and a signature Marchesa clutch.

Kate Upton: The model picked up ‘PEOPLE’s Sexist Woman’ award wearing an all-black all-leather look, selecting a Tamara Mellon bodysuit and a Thomas Wylde ‘Topsy Turvy’ skirt styled with Brian Atwood satin ‘Besame’ pumps and a vintage corseted belt from The Way We Wore. While my mind boggles at how uncomfortable a leather bodysuit must be, this isn’t such a bad look for Kate.

Models @ The 2014 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show After-Party

Models @ The 2014 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show After-Party

Aside from Taylor Swift’s after-party look, there wasn’t much to shout about on the red carpet at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show held at London’s Earls Court on Tuesday (December 2) which had a distinct black or white theme.

Karlie Kloss: Standing out for its non-revealing nature was Karlie Kloss’s look. The figure-hugging silhouette and sexy slit worked in an artful juxtaposition with the demure high neck and almost Victorian bow to the neckline of the Alexander McQueen dress, which was styled with a skull-clasp clutch.

Alessandra Ambrosio: Too tight and so tacky. That pretty much sums up my feelings about this ridiculous yet expected Balmain Spring 2015 look. A sure contender for WDOTY.

Candice Swanepoel: Also taking the revealing route was Candice, whose Zuhair Murad white floral embroidered sheer long-sleeve Spring 2015 gown left precious little to the imagination.

Models @ The 2014 British Fashion Awards

Models @ The 2014 2014 British Fashion Awards

A host of models held court at the 2014 British Fashion Awards, where the runway stunners took to the red carpet at the London Coliseum in London, England on Monday (December 1).

Daisy Lowe: She may have been dressed in shades of blush-pink, but there was a sexy side to all that sweetness with her Antonio Berardi asymmetrical, figure-hugging gown that was slit to her hip. A heart-embellished clutch by Charlotte Olympia finished the look on a lighthearted note.

Suki Waterhouse: From shades of pink to shades of blue, the model subscribed to the sheer trend in a Burberry Prorsum Spring 2015 tiered and pleated, navy ombre-inspired frock that was perhaps one shade too see-through. Gold metallic sandals provided a spirited contrast, but the baby-blue edged purse had no business here.

Joan Smalls: This Tom Ford scoop-neck LBD was sliced and diced with side cutouts and slits galore. She completed the skin-baring look with black Givenchy heels and a Rauwolf clutch.

Karlie Kloss In Pamella Roland – 2014 American Music Awards

Karlie Kloss In Pamella Roland - 2014 American Music Awards

Karlie Kloss was on hand to support BFF Taylor Swift at the 2014 American Music Awards, held on Sunday (November 23) at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California.

As much as I love the catwalker, I haven’t been the biggest fan of her red carpet style, so colour me happy to see her looking stunning wearing a Pamella Roland Spring 2014 two-piece.

The ab-baring sexy look for once isn’t dowdy, it’s event appropriate and showcases that sassy persona we always see when she takes to the runway.

Metallic silver Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ pumps and an Emm Kuo clutch complete her look.

Models @ The Vogue Foundation Gala

Models @ The Vogue Foundation Gala

Taking a break from strutting the runway, a bevy of models attended the Vogue Foundation Gala during Couture Fashion Week held at the Palais Galliera on Wednesday (July 9) in Paris, France.

Joan Smalls: The model wore an exotic piece from Givenchy’s Fall 2014 collection which featured a sleeveless dress with a snakeskin bodice with an embellished neckline and a pleated sheer skirt. As always, a perfect 10 from H2T.

Karlie Kloss: The model wore a slinky black frock with diamante spaghetti straps and an asymmetrical-cut skirt styled with Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals and a bronzed clutch. As always, I find her red carpet style to be like a match which just won’t ignite.

Anja Rubik: The model wore an Atelier Versace Fall 2014 look, donning a white shirt and a shimmering silver ultra mini skirt styled with Versace black peep-toe boots with gold hardware and a silver choker. There is nothing appealing to me about this look.
