Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Most Predictable Award
Lady GaGa was honored with the Fashion Icon Award at the 2011 CFDA Fashion Awards last night.

As we expected she wore a Mulger custom gown and shoes she could barely walk in, but on this occasion the most shocking thing was her blue wig.

The singer is almost unrecognisable with this new bobbed do.

On this occasion I do like her look despite not being the biggest fan of mullet dresses.

She adds personality and character to the look unlike some walking mannequins on this red carpet.

On Trend Award
The white suit trend kept on rolling last night at the 2011 CFDA Fashion Awards.

Actress Leelee Sobieski wore a white fitted suit designed by her menswear designer husband Adam Kimmel.

I love high-waist pants and the red lips, but I’m on the fence with regards to her shoe choice.

Keeping this look simple and pure was the key to mastering this look.

Is anyone else getting a young Sharon Stone vibe?

Most Boring/Deja Vu Award
Naomi Watts also attended the 2011 CFDA Fashion Awards last night wearing Calvin Klein.

Unlike Kerry Washington’s look, I was supremely bored by this gold metallic dress which I feel like I’ve seen on Naomi before.

Despite being very use to the minimalist Calvin Klein style, there is absolutely nothing interesting about this look.

Naomi added a gold bracelet and Christian Louboutin nude peep-toes.

I can imagine Gwyneth Paltrow giving me so much more had she wore this dress – more interesting heels for a start.

Not Those Shoes Again Award
No matter what she wears, Anna Wintour will not leave her house without her favourite Manolo’s.

At the 2011 CFDA Fashion Awards in New York City last night, she honored Marc Jacobs who took home the ‘Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award’, by wearing a look from his Fall 2011 collection.

This was also one of my favourites of the night.

I love that she didn’t modify the look, which often does.

The Marc Jacobs ivory satin top was paired with a forest green embroidered skirt and a black patent belt as presented on the runway.

As much as I would love to see her wearing a different pair of heels for a refreshing change, they do work really well with this look.

Best Modification Award
Ashley Greene attended the 2011 CFDA Fashion Awards as a guest of Michael Kors.

She opted for a Resort 2012 neon pink short sleeve dress with black paillette details.

I much prefer her version as it has less of a scuba vibe compared to the model look it was inspired by.

Michael Kors accessories including black leather heels, a leather box clutch, and Michael Kors jewels completed her look.

I love the sleek styling and dramatic make-up, but I wish the heels didn’t feel so heavy.

Best Use Of Colours Award
What I love about Liv Tyler is that you can never predict what she’s going to wear next.

At the 2011 CFDA Fashion Awards in New York City last night, we finally got to see a look from the Proenza Schouler Fall 2011 collection on the red carpet.

Her silk printed was accessorized with a Proenza Schouler belt, shoes and PS-11 clutch.

I love the dress; it’s so modern and vibrant. She really stood out on this red carpet.

The accessories really made this look one of my favourites from this event; especially those shoes.
