Ellie Goulding In Philipp Plein – 2017 BRIT Awards

Ellie Goulding attended the 2017 Brit Awards on Wednesday (February 22) in London, England.

I know what Ellie was trying to do here – go for the vampy look – but I just don’t think it works. The dress, by Philip Plein, features a chain detail cut out that is already quite busy, but the embellished halter neck and slit up the front proves too much.

I thought this dress might be a little too small for Ellie, but even on the model the fabric around the middle is bunching, which is never a good look.

This dress is just too heavy for her. The saving grace is her hair and dewy makeup, which always looks on point.

Eliza Cummings In Giles Deacon Couture – 2017 BRIT Awards

Eliza Cummings also attended the 2017 Brit Awards on Wednesday (February 22) in London, England.

At first glance, I didn’t mind this Giles Deacon Fall 2016 Couture gown, but the more I looked at it, the more I grew to dislike this dress.

The fabric doesn’t photograph as well under the harsh flash of a bulb, the shoulders are too big, and the embellished sheer sleeves with accentuated cuffs are too much.

It’s a shame, because the colour is great on Eliza.

In the same couture collection, this fabric was used for a jacket, which looked super chic. It should have started and finished there.

Charli XCX In Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood – 2017 BRIT Awards

If you wanted ruffles, Charli XCX bought them to the 2017 Brit Awards on Wednesday (February 22) in London, England.

The singer wore this Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood dress from the Spring 2017 collection. If you wondered who Andreas is, he’s Vivienne Westwood’s husband, who has taken the reigns of her fashion House.

I love the colour of this dress, it’s fabulous against dark hair and tanned skin, and the flow of ruffles adds the perfect amount of drama too. Charli made a great choice with her barley-there sandals – those clumpy shoes on the catwalk don’t work with it at all.

Charli finished her look with Vivienne Westwood jewels, and fierce makeup – the red lip makes the perfect clash with the purple dress.

Tallia Storm In Gucci – 2017 BRIT Awards

Tallia Storm attended the 2017 Brit Awards on Wednesday (February 22) in London, England.

The Scottish songstress went head-to-toe in Gucci, and looked brilliantly kitsch and relevant. She’s 18-years-old, and this look is perfect for a teenager, attending the Brits – one of the most ‘youthful’ of the award shows in the annual calendar.

The pink ruffles bring the drama, the clash in colours is spot on, even the red shoes (also Gucci) are a hit (although they can sometimes look a tad too heavy), and I love the necklace embellishment too.

Paloma Faith In Armani Privé, Giles & Dolce & Gabbana – 2015 BRIT Awards

Paloma Faith In Armani Privé 2015 BRIT Awards

It was a busy night for Paloma Faith, who attended the 2015 BRIT Awards held at the O2 Arena on Wednesday (February 25) in London, England.

Following the red carpet, she gave us a moving rain-soaked performance before collecting her award for ‘Best British Female Artist’.

Here is a rundown of her three looks.

Red Carpet: Despite this look being a re-run, I loved seeing this Armani Privé Fall 2014 tulle bustier dress with red polka dots and black veil net with small raised red chenille decorations on the red carpet once again. I’m still in awe of how elegant and refined the look is. Paloma does it justice, toning down her theatrics for a sleek hairstyle and bold red lip. You may remember that Rocio Munoz Morales wore this same dress during Sanremo 2015.

Taylor Swift In Roberto Cavalli Atelier – 2015 BRIT Awards

Taylor Swift In Roberto Cavalli Atelier - 2015 BRIT Awards

Taylor Swift attended the 2015 BRIT Awards held at the O2 Arena on Wednesday (February 25) in London, England, following the Elle Style Awards.

The singer set the red carpet on fire with her black Roberto Cavalli Atelier gown, which is very much a love-to-see-you-leave kinda gown as the back is enriched with a red lacquered dragon made of baguette crystals, beads, sequins and silk threads to create an effect of reptile scales in 3D.

I love how this look has maximum impact while still possessing an elegant feminine appeal.

Taylor really loves to keep us on our toes with her red carpet looks these days.

While the hair style appeared to age her somewhat, it does complement the chic nature of the gown.
