Rita Ora In Ulyana Sergeenko - 2013 Brit Awards

Rita Ora appeared to have adopted Eddie Redmayne’s leaning red carpet pose while attending the 2013 Brit Awards this evening in London.

Clearly she was inspire by Michael Jackson’s ‘Smooth Criminal’ 45 degree lean while working this pose.

The singer wore a couture gown from Ulyana Sergeenko’s Spring 2013 collection with a custom made snake ring by Jennifer Fisher.

On the model, the duchess-satin sleeveless gown with a cinched-in waist, draped skirt and open back looks very elegant, but that beauty is lost on Rita.

There is just too much ‘try’ in her try-hardness, which throws me off this look.

The back is very unflattering, the length is way too long – long enough to cut another gown from it – and the overall style is just boring.

She has moments of brilliance, but at times I just don’t get her style. It’s just so forced.

A Gucci Spring 2013 perspex clutch and gold jewels completed her look.

Taylor Swift In Elie Saab - 2013 Brit Awards

Let me guess: you saw Taylor Swift in Elie Saab in the title for tonight’s 2013 Brit Awards and you immediately thought the popstrel was wearing an embellished gown.

With her MO, I wouldn’t blame you, but on this occasion she wore a sleek Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2013 gown – sans sequins.

The gorgeous black sleeveless gown with sheer panels in the shoulders and skirt was, however, accented with a gold belt for a touch of bling.

Smouldering without her signature red lip colour, the singer opted for neutral makeup with smoky eyes and a dark manicure.

Putting my Elie Saab bias to one side, she was one of the best on the night.

Jourdan Dunn In Balmain - 2013 Brit Awards

Despite her peers jetting off to Milan for round three of Fashion Month yesterday, Jourdan Dunn opted to stay home and celebrate British music at the 2013 Brit Awards, held at the O2 Arena this evening.

Showing off those lean legs, the model, who walked for Burberry Prorsum and many others this week, donned a Balmain Spring 2013 dress.

We haven’t seen much of this collection on the red carpet; maybe that’s because you have to have a supermodel figure to pull off many of the tricky-to-wear pieces.

Sporting a smouldering glare, Jourdan styled her look with black strappy sandals, adding a bronze lip.

Jessie J In Versace - 2013 Brit Awards

Even though Jessie J has been working this transformation for a while now, once again I almost didn’t recognise her on the red carpet at the 2013 Brit Awards, held at the O2 Arena in London this evening.

Giving us a our first look from the Versace Pre-Fall 2013 collection, the singer wore a black long-sleeved asymmetrical gown with a sexy plunge, which was accented with a gold belt with a Medusa buckle.

Much like Katy Perry, Jessie appears to have also given up the clown makeup and quirky attire and, while that period was fun while it lasted, I’m thankful for this more grown-up, sleek approach.

I know many of you haven’t been so welcoming to this change, saying that Jessie is now looking a tad generic. I think she looks anything but, even with those simple black Jimmy Choo ‘Anouk’ pumps, which in all honesty perfect the look.

Brit Awards 2013 - Red Carpet Arrivals

Karis Anderson, Courtney Rumbold and Alex Buggs of Stooshe attended the 2013 Brit Awards this evening at the 02 Arena in London, giving us three very different looks.

Karis: The plum-haired beauty opted for an earthy boho vibe, wearing a metallic halter dress by British knitwear designer Craig Lawrence, which she styled with Christian Louboutin shoes.

Courtney: The blonde singer’s red carpet approach was more masculine, yet fun; she rocked a light-blue bespoke three-piece suit by Keko Hainswheeler, which she styled with white platform lace-up pumps à la Geri Halliwell, a pocket square and Vivienne Westwood cufflinks.

Alex: The raven-haired glamour puss wore a gown which I can easily identify as being a Roland Mouret gown. Her blue ‘Lunenberg’ gown cut to form the most flattering hourglass shape is doing exactly that.

For three very different looks, they manage to complement each other very well.

Paloma Faith In Dolce & Gabbana - 2013 Brit Awards

Paloma Faith took to the red carpet at the 2013 Brit Awards, which was held at the O2 Arena in London this evening.

If you are surprised that Paloma is wearing Dolce & Gabbana then shame on you: you don’t read this blog enough.

The Dolce devotee wore a nude lace Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2012 dress featuring a stunning mix of colourful crystals, which she styled with a jacquard clutch and beige platform pumps.

Factor in the hot-pink pout, her frizzy bi-colour hair, those statement earrings and a jeweled hair brooch and you have one unapologetic over-the-top fab look.

She’s fierce and she knows how to work it. I love her attitude.
