Best Dressed Of The Week – Jessica Chastain in Saint Laurent, Padma Lakshmi in Cushnie et Ochs & Eddie Redmayne in Tom Ford

Best Dressed Of The Week - Jessica Chastain in Saint Laurent, Padma Lakshmi in Cushnie et Ochs & Eddie Redmayne in Tom Ford

Jessica Chastain in her fairytale Saint Laurent gown was your best dressed this week.

I was somewhat surprised by the large margin of the lead considering the comments were that this gown was too prom-like and some objected to the embellished strap.

I, on the other hand, was picked up and swept away by Padma Lakshmi in her jaw-dropping Cushnie et Ochs gown.

The colour, her poise, the fit: it was a win, win, win all round and a contender for BDOTY for me.

As many of you said, your vote for Eddie Redmayne wasn’t just for this Tom Ford suit, but for all his looks, as each one was just as good as the last. He continues to steamroller the competition by such a large margin.

A Week In Eddie Redmayne’s Closet

A Week In Eddie Redmayne's Closet

Keeping up with Eddie Redmayne is no easy feat as the British actor, who is in the middle of promoting his new movie, ‘The Theory Of Everything’, has been living up to his best-dressed status at every event.

He was bold in burgundy Burberry at the BAFTA Los Angeles and Britannia Awards luncheon, styling his look with contrasting blue accessories for a truly diverse touch.

He looked so very debonair at the amfAR LA Inspiration Gala decked out in a satin-lapel suit by the honouree, Tom Ford, which might just be one of his best looks of all time. I just love the contrasting black pants for a less obvious pairing.

Last night he was at it again, and by ‘it’ I mean looking impeccable in a well-tailored shawl-collared suit at the BAFTA Los Angeles Jaguar Britannia Awards.

Canvassing for other well-dressed males, such as James Marsden, Daniel Radcliffe, Benedict Cumberbatch or Miles Teller, for best-dressed male of the year is almost impossible when Eddie keeps blowing them out of the water like this.

He’s on fire.

Rihanna In Tom Ford – 2014 amfAR LA Inspiration Gala

Rihanna In Tom Ford - 2014 amfAR LA Inspiration Gala

Rihanna attended the amfAR LA Inspiration Gala honouring Tom Ford held at Milk Studios on Wednesday (October 29) in Hollywood, California.

The singer was the fourth star to be dressed by Tom Ford following Gwyneth Paltrow, January Jones and Miley Cyrus at this event.

If you are shocked by Rihanna wearing this Tom Ford Spring 2015 white gown featuring cut-outs, a thigh-high slit and a sheer bodice with purple embellishments covering her areolas, then you haven’t seen her next-to-nothing Adam Selman CFDA Fashion Awards gown.

Like Miley, Rihanna is rocking the hell out of this gown.

When I said with regards to her previous look that it felt a bit flat, it was because when Rihanna is giving us pure unapologetic sex appeal that is quite frankly when she is at her best.

The orange lip is a tad jarring, but everything else she’s serving up I am buying.

I mean seriously, who else did you envision wearing this dress?

Miley Cyrus In Tom Ford – 2014 amfAR LA Inspiration Gala

Miley Cyrus In Tom Ford - 2014 amfAR LA Inspiration Gala

Miley Cyrus attended the amfAR LA Inspiration Gala honouring Tom Ford held at Milk Studios on Wednesday (October 29) in Hollywood, California.

Tom Ford has been known for not dressing more than one celebrity at an event; however, since this event was held in his honour, I guess he decided to break that rule for one night only as, following the Tom-Ford-clad Gwyneth Paltrow, Miley also selected a piece from the designer’s Spring 2015 collection.

Seeing Miley’s twins via a sheer gown with a dominatrix-esque strapped bodice is very much expected so, despite its best intentions, there is no shock value here.

It’s certainly not my cup of tea, but I honestly think she wears it well.

Toning down the antics and letting the dress be gives her a pass of sorts.

January Jones In Tom Ford - 2014 amfAR LA Inspiration Gala

January Jones attended the 2014 amfAR LA Inspiration Gala held at Milk Studios on Wednesday (October 29) in Hollywood, California.

The actress wore a nude shimmering Tom Ford dress which failed to excite, even with the embellishments the unflattering frock just fell flat.

She would’ve had so much at her disposal so this is beyond disappointing.

Bulgari jewels and Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals completed her one-to-forget look.

Gwyneth Paltrow In Tom Ford - 2014 amfAR LA Inspiration Gala

Gwyneth Paltrow hosted the 2014 amfAR LA Inspiration Gala held at Milk Studios on Wednesday (October 29) in Hollywood, California which was held in honour of Tom Ford.

The actress, who’s known to don a glamorous gown or two, opted for a more sleek, mannish approach on this occasion, selecting a Tom Ford suit with its signature wide lapels and cut-out detailing.

Giving the tailored look an alluring touch, she wore the satin-peak-lapel blazersans blouse, just adding a red lip and diamond cluster Harry Winston earrings.

We have often complained that she often wears different versions of a similar dress and that she always opts for the same hairstyle. Here we have a slicked-back ‘do and a black suit.

Does she pull off this look or does it feel too contrived?

Beyonce Knowles In Tom Ford & Zuhair Murad – 2014 MTV Video Music Awards #VMA

Beyonce Knowles In Tom Ford & Zuhair Murad - 2014 MTV Video Music Awards #VMA

Beyonce Knowles had a very busy night at the VMAs.

Not only did she performing a medley of tracks from her latest self titled album Beyonce, including ‘Mine,’ ‘Haunted,’ ‘No Angel,’ and Drunk In Love’, but she also collected a ton of well-deserved awards including the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, Best Collaboration for ‘Drunk in Love’ with Jay Z, Best Video with a Social Message for ‘Pretty Hurts,’ and Best Cinematography for ‘Pretty Hurts.’

Performance: Working a typical Sasha Fierce look for her performance, the singer donned a Tom Fall Spring 2014 bodysuit with a colourful shattered glass effect which she styled with fishnet tights and booties.

Press Room: Proudly holding her Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award the singer donned yet another figure-hugging long sleeve embellished gown from Zuhair Murad’s Fall 2014 collection. Many of you commented on her red carpet look, which is similar in style to this, that Bey relies on this fitted silhouette far too often. While I would throw my hands up in agreement, I will also say that it’s a look that works so well for her, that if it ain’t broke why fix it? I much prefer this look over the Nicolas Jebran Couture gown. Which do you prefer?

2014 Met Gala Menswear Roundup

Met Gala Men 1The dress code at the 2014 Met Ball, themed ‘Charles James: Beyond Fashion’ was “white tie,” which meant the guys were on their best glam behavior—at least most of them. Tuxes were spotted at every turn among the handsome hunks on the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 5). It takes a lot of sartorial strength to stand up to the rush of bustling, bold gowns that punctuate the evening, but let’s hear it for the men who made it work.

David Beckham: This hot topic was hotter than ever in a crisp, cool Ralph Lauren Black Label white shawl collar tuxedo jacket, black bow tie and black tuxedo pant. This is the way to rock formal wear, without a hit of fussiness. Swooning yet?

Douglas Booth
: The British actor took a regally traditional route, but put a refreshingly modern spin on his head-to-toe Burberry outing. He was positively dashing in a black tailcoat and dress trousers, worn with a white waistcoat, wing collar bib-front shirt, white bow tie and black loafers.

Andrew Garfield
: “The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ star looked sharp in silver, dressed in a Band of Outsiders metallic blazer with contrasting black shawl collar, paired with a white shirt, black bow tie and black tuxedo trousers. I love the touch of metal here.
