Selena Gomez In Reem Acra – ‘Spring Breakers’ LA Premiere

Selena Gomez In Reem Acra - 'Spring Breakers' LA Premiere

Whether we like it or not, Selena Gomez is all grown up these days, and she showcased that once again on the red carpet at the ArcLight Cinemas for the ‘Spring Breakers’ LA premiere.

After wearing several cut-out dresses back to back, she opted on this occasion for a striking Reem Acra Spring 2013 sleeveless gown with sexy beaded illusion panels.

Like her co-star, Vanessa Hudgens, Selena really owns this look. I think she’s really coming into her own at the moment and really commanding the red carpet.

A black Jimmy Choo clutch and Lorraine Schwartz jewels accessorized her look, with her wavy brunette locks twisted into a chic updo and a glossy red pout completing her look.

Is this a BDOTW contender for you?

Adrianne Palicki In Reem Acra – ‘G. I. Joe: Retaliation’ Seoul Premiere

Adrianne Palicki In Reem Acra - ‘GI Joe Retaliation’ Seoul Premiere

Adrianne Palicki stood out again on the red carpet at the ‘G. I. Joe: Retaliation’ World Premiere & Red Carpet at Times Square on Monday in Seoul, South Korea.

This time it was because she wore a striking Reem Acra gown from the designer’s Fall 2012 collection.

Her strapless floor-length sparkling stunner with sequin panels was styled with gold sandals and gold jewels.

This look would’ve worked better for me if her hair was pulled back into a chic chignon, but she has a chance to redeem herself later today when she takes to the red carpet again for the Australian premiere.

Halle Berry In Reem Acra – The Tonight Show with Jay Leno

Halle Berry In Reem Acra - The Tonight Show with Jay Leno

On Monday night Halle Berry made a guest appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to promote her new movie, ‘The Call’.

As much as I love Reem Acra, the first word that sprang to mine when I saw Halle in the designers’ Spring 2013 black dress with an illusion yoke was, ‘desperate’.

Before you quote my favourite line, “if you’ve got it, flaunt it” back to me, I would argue that this dress was fairly demure on the red carpet until Halle and her unsupported twins got hold of it.

And that’s my real issue with look, before that fact that this is yet another LBD.

This is something I would expect from a Kardashian.

Here are some quotes from her interview:

“I wanted to go to the Oscars looking like a Bond girl,” she said. “I felt like I was wearing a Ferrari.”

“I enjoy driving a Ferrari,” Leno said, suggestively. “Can you drive a stick shift?”

“I learned on a stick shift,” she coyly replied.

I mean.

Kristen Stewart In Reem Acra – 2013 Oscars

2013Oscars_KristenStewart

Kristen Stewart was added to the 2013 Oscars roster as a presenter for tonight’s show hosted at Hollywood & Highland Center’s Dolby Theatre in California.

She showed up towards the end of the red carpet festivities rocking quite the accessory, crutches, due to an unexplained injury. Crutches aside, the edgy starlet channeled a significantly softer side in a Reem Acra Couture design.

The creamy creation was an angelic gown with its flurries of tulle that peeked out from the intricate embroidery and embellishment of the dress.

While this was elegant enough, the dress appeared ill-fitting and it translated as too mature for this tomboy actress. As well, the colour nearly matched Kristen’s alabaster complexion. Unfortunately, the overall effect was more aging and washed-out than winning.

A different makeup look could have helped change that effect. Her smouldering, desert-hued smokey eye was pretty, but a bolder lip would have been nice. And her tousled waves seemed a bit too casual for the Oscars.

I didn’t like the Fred Leighton diamond link necklace here, as it was an unnecessary afterthought for this particular gown.

But, all in all, Kristen has to commended for conquering the red carpet even with an injured limp. She apparently even wore Jimmy Choo heels, not even resorting to Converse sneakers on this occasion.

Reem Acra Fall 2013

Reem Acra Fall 2013

Reem Acra’s Fall 2013 collection was inspired by a recent trip to Japan and a meeting with artist Daido Moriyama.

The influence was hinted at in the silhouettes and the lavish floral appliqués and embroideries, which were simply breathtaking.

I love how the designer played with volumes and shapes. We saw everything, from the luxuriously oversized to lean and sculpted, ranging from traditional kimonos to streamlined column gowns on a colour palette of mostly black, white and red.

I was quite taken by the tweed kimono coat worn over the ink-dot blouse with a houndstooth skirt for daywear, but it was the gowns I was most delighted to see.

The Lebanese designer, who is a hit with A-listers, served up gorgeous gowns ranging from beaded, embroidered, and figure-hugging to elaborate ball gowns, which should take pride of place on the red carpet at the Nokia Theatre in LA at some point… hopefully very soon.

Ellie Kemper In Reem Acra – 2013 SAG Awards

Ellie Kemper In Reem Acra - 2013 SAG Awards

Ellie Kemper attended the 2013 SAG Awards tonight, held at Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.

‘The Office’ star stood out in her delightfully hued sea-foam green gown from Reem Acra’s Resort 2013 collection.

Featuring an illusion neckline dotted with dainty embellishment that swirled its way to the hem of the dress, the design held a subtle sparkle. More shine came courtesy of Neil Lane jewels.

A sash with an architectural mock bow edged up the princess-y power of this look and kept it from venturing too sweet. But I have a feeling this dress looked better in person than it photographed, as some of the engaging detail was lost.

The pastel color was nice with Ellie’s flame-red hair, which was swept back into an updo and accessorized with a jewelled hair pin.

It’s a shame about that unsightly zipper at the back.
