Billie Lourd In Gucci – 2018 FX Annual All-Star Party

Billie Lourd struck a pose at the 2018 FX Annual All-Star Party on Thursday (March 15) in New York City, joining Sarah Paulson.

The former ‘Scream Queens’ star enlivened the red carpet in a Gucci Resort 2018 dress.

With its rich gold and navy floral brocade, it would have made a strong statement styled simply. Instead, she embraced the bold styling of the brand with dark tights and contrasting heels.

I appreciate that she didn’t wear the same accessories from the runway and took the look in her own direction.

Some will probably take issue with the clashing nature of her choices. I do prefer the original version, but think that if she was channeling a unique, eclectic mashup in a nod to the runway’s she has succeeded.

You may remember that Anja Taylor-Joy wore this same dress last year.

‘Gemini’ LA Premiere

Soft shades and whimsical touches were the styles at the ‘Gemini’ LA premiere on Thursday (March 15).

Zoe Kravitz: The beauty donned an ivory slip Gucci Spring 2018 dress, bringing an alluring vintage sentiment via the lace trim. She tempered the lingerie effect with a Prada blazer. The feather-adorned cuffs added a playful touch and worked with the softer details in the frock. It’s a shame about the creases on the skirt as this had such a low-key beauty.

Lola Kirke: The romantic mood continued with her costar’s ensemble. The English actress brought the glamour with a one-shouldered dress. The shorter silhouette and pleated skirt lent an Old Hollywood vibe which she gamely played up with her accessories and makeup. The star appliqués on the hip brought a touch of whimsy and rendered bold jewellery unnecessary.

‘The New Romantic’ SXSW Festival Premiere

Actors Jessica Barden, Brett Dier, Camila Mendes and Hayley Law attended the premiere of ‘The New Romantic’ during SXSW Festival on Sunday (March 11) in Austin, Texas.

Jessica Barden: Opting to spring forward, the actress wore an invigorating Gucci look, but I wish she opted for gold instead of silver pumps.

Brett Dier: Looking like he’s been on tour with a rock band for a few months, the actor’s laidback vibe was perfectly suited to this festival.

Camila Mendes: After her breath-taking appearance at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party, the young actress was a delight once again wearing a vibrant Tory Burch floral dress perfectly styled with nude pumps.

Hayley Law: Looking like she was perhaps on tour with Brett, the actress sported a cleaner rock inspired look, but her vintage T-shirt doesn’t pledge its allegiance to a rock band, more to Austrian fashion designer Helmut Lang. I love how this look was oozing with ’80s flavour. It wouldn’t look out of place on Camden High Street in London, especially with those Dr. Martens. I’m not mad she didn’t get the floral memo.

Models @ The Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Models stormed the 2018 Vanity Fair Oscar Party on Sunday (March 4) in Beverly Hills, California, with a range of head-turning looks—for better or worse.

Alessandra Ambrosio: The naked dress had another showing with this Ralph & Russo Couture embellished, sheer design, styled with Lorraine Schwartz jewels and Giuseppe Zanotti sandals. There will be no doubt her body isn’t rocking, but I know eyes will be rolling at the complete transparency of the look.

Ashley Graham: This Rubin Singer gown featured a recognizable, slit-to-there silhouette, but it was the gleaming sheen that upped the ante. A swept-back hairstyle and Sophia Webster sandals completed the look.

Lily Aldridge: The golden-goddess look served Lily well in this Versace liquid-gold gown that had a certain chainmail effect. Christian Louboutin heels and Bvlgari jewels and bag finished her glamorously regal entrance.

2018 Oscars & Oscar Parties Menswear Roundup

Many of the men brought their A game to the 2018 Oscars and Oscars parties, including the Vanity Fair Oscar Party and Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party on Sunday (March 4) in California.

Chadwick Boseman: The ‘Black Panther’ star continued his reign of sartorial power in this Givenchy Haute Couture suit that was inspired by a full look in the Spring 2018 collection. However, I love how he made the long, embellished jacket his own—sleekly styling it with black shirting and trousers and the zipper-accented shoes.

Donald Glover: This Gucci tux such a handsome-luxe approach with the velvet jacket taking it to the next level in partnership with the relaxed-suave appeal of the slipper shoes. A David Yurman ring completed the look.

Tom Holland: Sometimes double-breasted jackets can come across as a bit contrived, but I love how Tom wore this Hermès suit so sharply. It was a standout on the Oscars red carpet with his Piaget watch adding that final touch.

Salma Hayek In Gucci – 2018 Oscars

There was no missing Salma Hayek at the 2018 Oscars on Sunday (March 4) in Hollywood, where she joined Helen Mirren, Mira Sorvino and Kelly Marie Tran.

The Mexican beauty shimmered in a high-octane Gucci gown that was dripping with embellishment.

Gucci is known for its maximalist, mix-and-match aesthetic. This pastel style presents a more unified finish because of the shine theme, but the combination of the pink paillettes and draped rhinestones across the chest is unexpected and nods to the eclecticism of the brand.

Harry Winston jewels added even more sparkle.

Was this a hit or a miss for you?

2018 Film Independent Spirit Awards Menswear Roundup

We can’t leave out the fellas from the 2018 Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday (March 3) in Santa Monica, California, especially when they were looking so fine.

Chadwick Boseman: Usually my goosebump moments are reserved for breath-taking princess gowns or Cate Blanchett when she’s on top form, but lately, every Chadwick moment is a goosebump moment. The man is on fire. And this Burberry look is a glowing testament to that fact. Styled with David Yurman accessories and Louboutin Homme shiny shoes, the actor continues to serve up unparalleled suave sophistication. He has really made menswear a joy to follow this year.

Nnamdi Asomugha: The actor was joined by his lovely wife Kerry Washington at this event wearing Dolce & Gabbana. The shoes really sold this look to me. Often guys break out of navy and black comfort zone only to opt for black shoes. Nnamdi committed to this oxblood look from head-to-toe presenting a dapper look.

Timothee Chalamet: It seems that your love for Timothee’s style has waned over the last few weeks. Here he did something different wearing Off-White. I love the idea, but dislike the execution. The skinny jeans don’t appear to be skinny enough, and the footwear is so bulky that they are almost comical. A cool pair of Common Projects would’ve been preferred.
