Variety’s 2014 Power Of Women Event Red Carpet Roundup

Variety's 2014 Power Of Women Event Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a brief rundown of the rest of the attendees of Variety’s 2014 Power Of Women event held at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel on Friday (October 10) in Beverly Hills, California.

Viola Davis: Like Lizzy Caplan, the ‘The Help’ actress, who was honoured at the event for her work with ‘Hunger Is’, wore a mint-green dress. However, the styling of her Escada dress with an origami-pleated neckline was less desirable, with black platform pumps. Jacob & Co earrings completed her look.

Jane Fonda: Also honoured for her work for the ‘Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Power & Potential’, the actress was looking as regal as ever, still keeping up her run of all things trousered wearing a black open-neck jumpsuit.

Eva Longoria: Prior to hosting the ALMA Awards, the actress took to the red carpet at this event wearing a Cushnie et Ochs rich plum fitted dress with no cut outs, styled with Brian Atwood nude pumps and a satin Louboutin clutch in the same hue.

Kristen Bell In Etro – ‘The Judge’ Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Kristen Bell In Etro - 'The Judge' Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Kristen Bell attended the premiere of the film ‘The Judge’ at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival in Toronto, Canada last night (September 4).

The pregnant star wore a floral print jumpsuit from the Etro Spring 2014 collection, along with metallic strapped pumps.

Kristen was smart to leave accessories out of the equation entirely, since the fringed criss-cross neckline and mixed print details of this jumpsuit are plenty of look all on their own.

The actress looks happy and healthy, which is lovely, however, I can’t help but feel this wasn’t the best choice for maternity wear, since the burgeoning bump just adds one more element to an already busy look, and it just reads as a bit much.

Messy waves, beautifully glowing skin and a pinky nude lip complete the look.

Mireille Enos In Etro – ‘If I Stay’ LA Premiere

Mireille Enos In Etro - ‘If I Stay’ LA Premiere

Having given birth to a baby just three weeks ago, Mireille Enos was back on the red carpet for the ‘If I Stay’ LA premiere held at the TCL Chinese Theatre on Wednesday (August 20) in Hollywood, California.

Wearing an Etro suit which was beautifully fabricated and tailored to perfection in a riot of colours ranging from blue and black to pink, she added a black cami from Express to add balance and therefore not overwhelm the look.

Styled with black Brian Atwood patent-leather pumps and Loree Rodkin jewels, this is a fabulous return to the red carpet.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw In Etro – Root 100 2014 List Release Reception

Gugu Mbatha-Raw In Etro - Root 100 2014 List Release Reception

Gugu Mbatha-Raw attended the Root 100 2014 List Release Reception on Tuesday (August 19) in Edgartown, Massachusetts.

Wearing an Etro loose-fit top with slim-leg pants, the paisley print in a palette of red, black and white stays true to what the house is most famous for – vibrant prints.

Paired with a bright-blue clutch and black pumps, I’m not as enamoured by the accessories as I am the outfit.

The hair and makeup, on the other hand: perfection.

Director Amma Asante was also looking very chic wearing a tweed strapless dress with black accessories.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Menswear 15 August

Gents have been scrubbing up nicely on the red carpet this week. Here is a quick roundup.

James Marsden: The actor was back and looking sharper than ever, attending the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s Grants Banquet wearing a Z Zegna grey two-button notched-lapel suit styled with tan Givenchy laceups. I’m missing a tie thanks to the charming navy print pocket square.

Channing Tatum: The actor also opted for some shades of grey, donning a Gucci windowpane two-button notched-lapel suit styled with a white dress shirt and steel-grey tie, with black laceups rounding out his dapper look.

Robert Pattinson: Having disappointed many of you with his last look, it appears Rob made a conscious effort on this occasion, looking very handsome, in his usual slightly dishevelled way, donning a classic black Gucci suit. I love the shimmering black tie and the maroon laceups for two out-of-the-box touches.

Zoe Saldana In Etro – Relativity At Ten Luncheon

Zoe Saldana In Etro - Relativity At Ten Luncheon

Zoe Saldana attended the ‘Relativity at Ten’ luncheon on Sunday (May 18) as part of the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival.

Wowing in a vibrant Etro Spring 2014 dress, Zoe gave a master-class in summery daytime dressing.

The yellow and white printed shirt dress with sexy deep neckline and feminine gathered detailing at the front was a stand-out choice for the midday event.

A colourful pink lip shade, relaxed waves and chic black sandals were all that was needed for the finishing touches.

Fresh and colourful, and perfect for the day and occasion.

Kate Hudson In Etro & Candela – Chrome Hearts & Kate Hudson Garden Party

Kate Hudson In Etro & Candela - Chrome Hearts & Kate Hudson Garden Party

Kate Hudson hosted a garden party to celebrate her collaboration with Chrome Hearts on Thursday (May 8) in Los Angeles, California.

The actress wore an earthy boho look featuring free-flowing Etro silk print palazzo trousers from the Spring 2010 collection which boosts a contemporary spirit styled with an ivory Candela ‘Crawley’ sheer intricate lace top with eyelash lace trims.

Kate recently sat down with ‘Haute Living’ to chat about what she’s learned from mom Goldie Hawn, what she’ll be doing with sons Ryder, 10, and Bingham, 3 on Mothers’ Day.

On the most important lesson her mother ever taught her: There is not just one. Every time someone asks me one of these questions, I have a very serious answer, though one [of those lessons] would probably be don’t take yourself too seriously! There’s something about my mom. She’s really forgiving by nature. She’s a tough mom; she’s not in any way what people would think she’d be as a mother. She’s very strong-minded, very tough and can be strict, but she’s also so forgiving and non-judgmental. The word is accepting; there’s nothing self-righteous about my mother. There was nothing growing up with my mom that was like, ‘This is the way it’s supposed to be’ or ‘You need to look like that’ or ‘I want to see you create this.’ There was nothing like that. My mom was always just about ‘Do you feel good? Are you happy? Is what you’re doing bringing you a sense of feeling grounded? Are you feeling all over the place?’ For my mom, it was really just about wanting to see the life and life around the connections of what she created to look and feel good, that it wasn’t filled with stress or complications, that you’re taking care of your heart. Her whole foundation is about being on this journey for what makes people feel real happiness, authentic, truthful and good about what they’re doing and who they are. She’s optimistic; it’s her way. If anything, [what I’ve learned from my mom] is a philosophy more than it is advice. It’s become enabling where your focus is to what is really important in your life. That’s mom. Anything else is kind of an auxiliary part of our lives and is not as important to her.

On her go-to outfit: My go-to outfit is jeans, heels and a T-shirt. I’ll probably be wearing a dress [on Mother’s Day though] with the way it’s been lately.

On her Mother’s Day plans: Home at the house with my kids and my mom and my dad and my brother and his family and my other brother and my other brother, all the brothers…and Bloody Marys! Bloody Marys are my favorite things on the planet – my favorite cocktail on the planet. Any excuse for a Bloody! My mom likes her Bellinis, but I like my Bloody Marys.
