Pace Wu’s Fall 2013 Paris Fashion Week

She did it again: Pace Wu was the Queen of Paris Fashion Week. This time she took in twelve shows giving twelve amazing front row looks.

Long may she reign.

Carven: She started off her fashionable week last Thursday at the Carven Fall 2013 presentation dressed in a summery organza cut-out embroidered dress from the Spring 2013 collection. Giving the pretty frock an edge, she styled the look with an interesting black clutch, which mimics the design on her dress, and open-toe lace booties.

Lanvin: Even though she looks divine, this chartreuse asymmetrical mini dress with a black bow on the shoulder from the Spring 2013 collection, which she styled with the same Lanvin ‘Arpege’ minaudiere the model carried on the runway, was my least favourite, as I’m not so crazy about the colour.

Viktor & Rolf: I adore this chic blue satin gown with a bow accent from the Viktor & Rolf Spring 2013 collection, but I wish she hadn’t opted for the white blazer as I’m curious to see the whole look, which differed from the gown which took to the runway. She styled her look with her favourite Jimmy Choo ‘Greta’ ankle-strap platform peep-toes and a pink clutch.

Katharine McPhee In Carven – The Today Show

Katharine McPhee made a guest appearance on the Today Show on Tuesday in New York City to promote the second series of her hit show ‘Smash’, which premiered on the same evening.

The actress wore a dress by a brand which is universally loved – Carven.

Her Spring 2013 guipure lace dress, with a racer front, cut-out midsection, and a full skirt with tonal organza underlay, was muted for daytime TV with a white blazer.

You may be thinking, what is the point of wearing an interesting dress if you are going to cover it up on TV yet still have your stomach showing, and I would agree.

In saying that, I do like the look, especially when paired with my favourite shoe designer of the moment, Aquazzura.

Her ‘Sexy Thang’ suede sandals, which I also own in electric blue (of course), add some fierce femininity to her chic daytime TV look.

Pink lips and a wavy lob provided the finishing touches.

Alesha Dixon In Carven – ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ London Auditions

Last week, Alesha Dixon continued her go-bold approach to red carpet dressing when she was spotted outside the London Palladium ahead of another round of London auditions for ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.

This time, she wore a Carven Resort 2013 ensemble consisting of a crepe two-button blazer in a fiery coral hue which gave a clean-lined silhouette.

Matching the blazer with the same skirt presented in the look book, this skirt is Parisian chic with a hint of flirtatious frill. I love the playful shape.

A white buttoned-up shirt, accented with a custom-made Lisa E Moss rodeo necklace, and silver metallic toe-cap Topshop shoes completed the look.

I’m not a fan of the necklace, plus I would’ve unbuttoned the shirt to complement the playfulness of the suit.

Anne Hathaway In Carven – ‘Les Miserables’ Luncheon

Last week, Anne Hathaway joined Amanda Seyfried at the Four Seasons restaurant in New York City for a luncheon hosted for her latest movie, ‘Les Miserables’.

The actress wore a Carven Spring 2013 look.

A sleeveless blue blouse with a contrasting maroon round-tip collar was styled with a raffia tweed skirt A-line skirt, tights and Aldo vegan-friendly pumps.

With her tiny waist she didn’t need that thick black leather belt.

It’s not often we see Anne in such playful looks. This style really suits her boyish cropped ‘do.

Jamie Wolf scallop stud earrings and a pink lip colour completed her look.

Keira Knightley In Carven – ‘Live with Kelly and Michael’

Keira Knightley made a guest appearance on ‘Live with Kelly and Michael’ to promote her latest movie, ‘Anna Karenina’.

On the show, which aired on Friday in the US, she wore a Carven Spring 2013 dress.

Her panama basket-weave dress, with cap sleeves, cut-out lace detail at the bust, and a panel-seamed full skirt, was styled with a pair of rich burgundy Marni ankle-strap sandals with black piping.

A black manicure and wavy tresses completed her look.

Ladylike and effortless as always.

Kerry Washington In Carven – Hollywood Reporter’s 21st Annual Women In Entertainment Breakfast

Kerry Washington woke up early Wednesday morning to speak at the The Hollywood Reporter’s annual ‘Power 100: Women in Entertainment’ breakfast held at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

The actress who stars in Quentin Tarantino’s forthcoming ‘Django Unchained’, opted for a charcoal flutter-sleeved frock from Carven’s Spring 2013 collection.

Naturally, Kerry’s sartorial compass—which typically points toward ladylike—directed her to the Hitchcock heroine dress.

Its whimsical Art Nouveau cutouts at the décolletage added visual interest, and the nipped waist and tea-length skirt were well proportioned for the petite actress’s 5’4” frame.

As for accessories, matchy-matchy red pumps and a red Kate Spade New York clutch completed her look. Was Kerry thinking outside the box with her choice of accessories?
