Best Dressed Of The Week – Blake Lively in Gucci Première, Cate Blanchett In Armani Privé, Ryan Reynolds in Gucci & Benedict Cumberbatch in Ralph Lauren

BDOTW Cannes

With so much going on this weekend I almost forgot to announce who was best dressed of the week.

Well, it was a two-way tie between Blake Lively in Gucci Première and Blake Lively in Gucci Première. While I believed her opening ceremony gown was the better of the two, it would appear you guys loved them both equally.

My choice was the great Cate Blanchett in Armani Privé. What can I say; it’s a match made in fashion heaven.

When it came to the fellas, you gave Ryan Reynolds in Gucci the top honour this week. I, on the other hand, was swept away by Benedict Cumberbatch in his impeccable Ralph Lauren Black Label suit.

Naomi Watts joined Cate Blanchett in attending the Vanity Fair And Armani Party held during the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival on Saturday (May 17) in Cap d’Antibes, France.

The actress dazzled from head to toe, wearing an Armani Privé Spring 2014 sleeveless gown with exquisite beading for sparkling flair.

She styled her gown with Bulgari jewels, with a slick of red lip colour and an updo completing her look.

Cate Blanchett attended the Vanity Fair And Armani Party held during the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival on Saturday (May 17) in Cap d’Antibes, France.

Looking regal wearing Armani Privé, the actress didn’t add too many accessories to detract from her stunning dress.

I love the lightly embellished detailing, the gold lace overlay and that barely seen organza peplum detail which cascades down the back.

Sadly, no full-length picture is available, but I’m sure she was perfection from head to toe. This is Cate Blanchett, after all.

Suki Waterhouse In Armani Privé & Peter Pilotto – Cannes Film Festival Parties

Suki Waterhouse In Armani Privé & Peter Pilotto - Cannes Film Festival Parties

Making her Cannes Film Festival debut, model Suki Waterhouse is attracting big name designers as she continues on the busy party circuit.

Vanity Fair and Armani Party: On Saturday (May 17) Suki wore a Middle Eastern inspired printed full skirt and fitted jacket from the Armani Prive Spring 2014 collection. While it’s unusual to see the young model so covered up, it is equally as great to see Suki try out a new silhouette. I particular love the way Suki has contrasted the rich blue palette and luxurious silk fabric with unkempt hair, a signature flick of eyeliner and not much else. A little bit of London cool girl and a little bit of Cannes makes this a great evening look for Suki.

Relativity at 10 Party: Attending the Relativity at 10 luncheon the following day (May 18) Suki switched up her style once again in a strapless floral Peter Pilotto dress. Perfect for the midday Cannes sunshine, this look was much more fresh and romantic. While I think stringer make-up would have help give the look a lift, it’s suitably feminine, flirty and with a sporty feel and a great choice for the young star. While I don’t love the shoes, a white sandal does say more daytime than a pointed court would have done.

Out of the looks, the first is my favourite. Not just for the styling, but for the fact it’s much more unique and shows off Suki’s quirky styling abilities.

Cate Blanchett & Penelope Cruz In Armani Privé – Chopard Party

Cate Blanchett & Penelope Cruz In Armani Privé - Chopard Party

Chopard hosted a private party that took place during Cannes Film Festival on Thursday (May 15).

Cate Blanchett: Outdoing herself for the third time this week, the actress stunned wearing a Giorgio Armani Privé short-sleeved turquoise silk jacquard organza long dress with an intricate geometric design fully embroidered with Swarovski crystals. This is beyond amazing. I don’t think she’s looked this jaw-dropping since her BDOTY win of 2010.

Penelope Cruz: The Spanish beauty also wore Armani Privé, selecting a white silk-cady gown with a black bow on the waist. It’s a crying shame I can’t find a full-length picture.

Paz Vega: The actress cozied up to Penelope, opting for a sharply tailored look wearing a black tuxedo-inspired jumpsuit styled with a Zagliani ‘Faye’ silver python clutch.
