Nicole Kidman In Alexander McQueen - Cannes Film Festival Jury Photocall

Nicole Kidman attended the Jury Photocall for the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival this afternoon in France.

Having been announced as the face (or should that be feet) of Jimmy Choo’s Fall 2013 ad campaign, I wasn’t surprised that her Choos were the stars of this look.

The Australian actress wore a black Alexander McQueen Fall 2013 dress with a sculpted neckline and box-pleated sleeves paired with Jimmy Choo ‘Award’ grape-coloured suede pumps with a croc toe-cap.

Opting for a gold Omega timepiece, Nicole’s uber-chic look was completed with a side-swept ponytail tied with a black ribbon.

I have never been a fan of side ponytails on grown women, but the dress and shoes more than compensate.

Willow Smith In Chanel & Jada Pinkett Smith In Alexander McQueen - 15th Annual From Slavery to Freedom Gala

While the boys are away in Asia, Jada Pinkett Smith and daughter Willow Smith attended the Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Trafficking 15th Annual From Slavery to Freedom Event held at Sofitel Hotel in Los Angeles, California yesterday evening.

There is a lot going on here that I don’t like.

Willow Smith: The young singer, who has had more misses than hits, wore a Chanel Spring 2013 jumpsuit which we have seen twice before on Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Miley Cyrus. The problem here is that she is way too short for the look; the pants are dragging on the floor, so you only get a peek at her Christian Louboutin ‘Manovra’ slingback pumps. The cropped jacket is a cute addition, as is the hat, but that blonde wig is ridiculous.

Jada Pinkett Smith: After burning myself on a recent trip to Portugal I should feel some sympathy for Jada, but I don’t. That orange over-tanned glow and her well-tailored peachy-coloured Alexander McQueen suit with satin trims do not go well together.

Who Wore Alexander McQueen Better Elizabeth Banks or Angelababy

Elizabeth Banks looked breathtaking when she took to the red carpet for the 2013 Vanity Fair Oscars party back in February wearing an off-runway Alexander McQueen Spring 2013 gown with a low-cut bodice.

She styled her poppy-print organza gown with an Alexander McQueen tortoise-shell belt with a gold buckle, Dior jewels, Brian Atwood heels and a gold McQueen clutch.

Angelababy wore the same gown when she attended the 2013 Huading Awards Ceremony in Hong Kong last month.
Opting to style her gown with the solid gold belt, I felt the jewels were too much for this gown; Elizabeth was right to keep her jewels simple.

Also, the excessive boobage was off putting. For letting the gown do all the talking, Elizabeth wins for me.

Julianne Moore In Alexander McQueen - 'The English Teacher' Tribeca Film Festival Premiere

Julianne Moore attended the world premiere of ‘The English Teacher’ during the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival on Friday in New York City.

The actress opted for a beautiful Alexander McQueen long-sleeved frock in a bold purple hue with a frilled hemline, which she styled with black accessories.

They of course included an Alexander McQueen skull-clasp clutch, with black Narciso Rodriguez banded slingback wedges adding an edge and a green ring providing an additional pop of colour.

Her styling of this look was impeccable. Anything more would’ve been overkill.

Naomi Watts In Alexander McQueen - 'Sunlight Jr' Tribeca Film Festival Premiere

When Naomi Watts attended the world premiere of her film, ‘Sunlight Jr.,’ with co-star Matt Dillon at the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City, she did her part to keep the pattern-and-prints trend alive and well.

The actress walked the red carpet in a stained-glass-printed Autumn/Winter dress by Alexander McQueen, matched with a pair of triangular Monique Péan earrings and a blood-orange clutch.

The look takes a step in the wrong direction when it comes to the shoes, though. I wasn’t in love with these heavy black platforms, as a lighter, more vivacious shoe would have played much nicer with the kaleidoscope pattern of the dress.

Naomi also adopted the less-is-more beauty approach, with hardly any evidence of makeup and barely-styled hair.
