Mindy Kaling & Amy Poehler – ‘Inside Out’ Cannes Photocalls

Mindy Kaling & Amy Poehler - 'Inside Out' Cannes Photocalls

Mindy Kaling and Amy Poehler attended two photocalls for their animated feature ‘Inside Out’ during the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival on Monday (May 18) in Cannes, France.

Mindy Kaling: Something strange is going on if even Mindy, queen of colour, attends a Cannes photocall wearing a mostly black dress. Her Roksanda Turnham fitted dress does benefit from colour-block sleeves, but I’m sure this will not satisfy those craving for colour when it comes to the photocalls.

Amy Poehler: The actress showed off her darker hair colour wearing a printed frock with bold shoulders. Sadly, it feels too sombre for Cannes.

Kate Winslet In Alexander McQueen – Cardboard Citizens Fundraising Event

Kate Winslet In Alexander McQueen - Cardboard Citizens Fundraising Event

Kate Winslet hosted a fundraising dinner for ‘Cardboard Citizens’ raising money for their new season of theatre working with homeless people at The Brewery on Saturday (May 16) in London, England.

For those of you who have said that Kate has been wearing the same style of Stella McCartney dress since 2011, you’ll be relieved she did something different on this occasion.

The British actress looked very elegant wearing an Alexander McQueen Spring 2015 draped satin gown which I love for its fluid, flattering silhouette and vibrant hue.

When it comes to the styling, I would keep the silver earrings and lose the gold watch.

Cate Blanchett In Alexander McQueen – ‘Carol’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Cate Blanchett In Alexander McQueen - 'Carol' Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Cate Blanchett joined Rooney Mara for the Cannes Film Festival photocall for ‘Carol’ on Sunday (May 17) in Cannes, France.

Fresh off the plane from Singapore Fashion Week, the Australia actress didn’t get the memo that wearing all black to the photocall was so two day ago.

Darkly elegant, as we would expect from an Alexander McQueen look, despite the visible bra I kinda love this new direction of femininity Cate has opted for this afternoon.

Once in a while even the Queen has to shake things up in order to not become too predictable.

While I like this on Cate, I kinda wish Emma Stone had worn this for her photocall.

Rooney Mara attended the ‘Carol’ photocall during the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival on Sunday (May 17) in Cannes, France.

The actress wore an Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2015 ivory broderie anglaise dress styled with brands signature corset belt, and colour-coordinated Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals.

Even with the modern mannerisms this frock possess, I love that she evokes ethereal fairytale charm.

Perhaps the tonal effect with be rendered boring for some, but I’m just glad it’s not yet another black frock at a photocall.

I’m intrigued to see Rooney’s look this evening. No doubt it will be black; and possibly Givenchy.

Cannes Film Festival Menswear Roundup

"Mad Max: Fury Road" Photocall - The 68th Annual Cannes Film Festival
The stars of ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ were at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival for the photocall and premiere of the film on Thursday (May 14) in Cannes, France, where the two British studs coordinated their looks to handsome effect.

Tom Hardy: Standing with Charlize Theron by his side at the photocall, Tom wore a monochromatic Alexander McQueen suit with matching dress shirt that worked out to be a likeable look for him. The partially unbuttoned shirt, necklace, and buzz cut of course hinted at his bad-boy charm.

Nicholas Hoult: Also dressed in a navy colour scheme for the photocall, the actor wore his Dior Homme suit with laidback ease, likewise skipping the tie but adding another layer of polish with a crisp white dress shirt, pocket square, and black loafers. He should always wear blue, given its effect on his piercing eyes.
