2014 Hollywood Film Awards Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

2014 Hollywood Film Awards Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Lest we forget the gents who took to the red carpet for the 2014 Hollywood Film Awards on Friday (November 14).

Channing Tatum: Escorting his good lady wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, the actor looked so very handsome in his Gucci navy notch-lapel three-piece New Signoria suit with a white shirt, navy silk tie and black leather lace-up shoes. Tatum and Gucci continues to be a winning combination.

Jared Leto: The Oscar-winning actor opted for a smart double-breasted suit from Alexander McQueen’s Fall 2014 collection. I love the styling of this look – yep, even the white Christian Louboutin New Platers Fiori shoes. I love how he can always marry looking smart with being uber cool.

Eddie Redmayne: The British actor joined his Alexander McQueen-clad ‘Theory of Everything’ co-star, Felicity Jones, at this event, looking as dapper as ever. Cut to perfection, his midnight-blue Valentino tuxedo with contrasting black lapels is yet another look for his hall of fame. I love the dual-colour pocket square. Sometimes it’s the little things that make an outfit.

Felicity Jones In Alexander McQueen – 2014 Hollywood Film Awards

Felicity Jones In Alexander McQueen - 2014 Hollywood Film Awards

Felicity Jones attended the 18th Annual Hollywood Film Awards held at The Palladium on Friday (November 14) in Hollywood, California.

The British actress wore black – again – this time wearing an Alexander McQueen Resort 2015 featuring a beautifully embellished bodice and a flowing sheer skirt which offers a tantalising glimpse of what lies beneath.

While Felicity looks as beautiful and elegant as ever, however, I’m getting to a point where I want to see something a little bit different from her.

Felicity Jones In Alexander McQueen - 2014 Variety Screening Series of 'Theory Of Everything'

Felicity Jones attended the 2014 Variety Screening Series of ‘Theory Of Everything’ held at ArcLight Hollywood on Thursday (November 13) in Hollywood, California.

The actress wore an Alexander McQueen black and white jacquard pleated dress from the Spring 2015 collection styled with her favourite black Mary Janes pumps.

While die-hard McQueen fans will argue “where is the McQueen in this frock? Others will say that it’s yet another simple, classic look perfectly in tune with Felicity’s style.

‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1′ London Photocall

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" - Photocall

Julianne Moore, Jennifer Lawrence, Elizabeth Banks and Natalie Dormer attended the photocall for ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1′ held at the Corinthia Hotel London on Sunday (November 9) in London, England ahead of Monday’s world premiere.

It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for, but sadly Jena Malone wasn’t in attendance as she was at the EMAs.

Julianne Moore: The actress more than held her own in this quartet wearing a Dries van Noten dress which champions the brand’s retro-modern aesthetic with contrast prints and a relaxed-fit design. Sadly, all the good work is undone with those grey Aquazzura black suede Sexy Thing booties.

Jennifer Lawrence: While tomorrow will most definitely be a Dior night, Jennifer wore her second non-Dior look in a row, donning a white suit from much-buzzed-about new brand Public School. Styled with a black cami top and silver pumps, this is another good look for Jennifer.

Elizabeth Banks: Withdrawing from her Alexander McQueen account early, the actress wore a bold fuchsia frock rendered with a striking contrasting animal and ikat print in a very short design. I usually want to high-five her footwear choices, but I’m not a fan of the Jimmy Choo ‘Vanish’ ankle boots, although I do love the colour.

Natalie Dormer: The British actress usually gives me plenty to shout about, but on this occasion I feel like she hit the mute button. While there is nothing wrong with this Michael Van Der Ham Spring 2015 look, she’s usually oozing with a lot more colour and character.

Cheryl Fernandez Versini In Alexander McQueen – Oxford Street Christmas Lights Switch On Event

Cheryl Fernandez Versini In Alexander McQueen - Oxford Street Christmas Lights Switch On Event

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini switched on the Oxford Street Christmas Lights at Oxford Street on Thursday (November 6) in London, England.

The singer, who often refers to her fans as soldiers, wore an Alexander McQueen military-inspired coat on the evening.

I love the coat for its uber-luxe feel and for its timeless silhouette with a modern spin, with the cut-away front making this quite a unique piece.

Complementing the look with Helmut Lang leather trousers and a metal waistband, she added a bedazzled poppy head in recognition of Remembrance Sunday.

I can imagine the Duchess of Cambridge wearing this coat, modified of course, without the cut-away front.

Elizabeth Banks In Alexander McQueen – 2014 Breeders’ Cup World Championship

Elizabeth Banks In Alexander McQueen Resort 2015 - 2014 Breeders' Cup World Championship

Before ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1′ world premiere in London next Monday, Elizabeth Banks attended the 2014 Breeders’ Cup World Championships held at Santa Anita Park on Saturday (November 1) in Arcadia, California.

She wore her favourite designer, Alexander McQueen, selecting a look from the Resort 2015 collection.

As you know, I have loved Elizabeth Banks since time began, but I am terribly disappointed by the styling of this black and white printed frock with blue embroidery.

Firstly, I wish she’d taken a cue from the look book, opting for lapis-blue accessories, and a belt would’ve helped elevate the look, but honestly I think the biggest culprits here are the heavy suede pumps – oh, and the hat.

No and no.
