Solange Knowles In Etro – 2013 Budweiser Made In America Festival

Solange Knowles In Etro – 2013 Budweiser Made In America Festival

While performing at the 2013 Budweiser Made in America Festival after-party at the Theater of the Living Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Saturday, Solange Knowles wore her second piece from the Etro Spring 2014 collection.

The singer donned a red silk tribal-print top with matching shorts with an open skirt overlay.

On this occasion we see her shoes. She shunned her usual fancy footwear for grungy black leather open-toe boots for a more relaxed vibe.

Her signature afro and red lip colour completed her performance piece.

Solange Knowles In Etro & Kenzo – 2013 Budweiser Made In America Festival

Solange Knowles In Kenzo - 2013 Budweiser Made In America Festival

Solange Knowles performed during the 2013 Budweiser Made In America Festival at Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Sunday.

The master of mixing prints, she wore a colourful floral-print short-sleeved Etro Spring 2014 blouse with a palm-tree-printed fitted skirt with asymmetrical zippers from Kenzo’s Resort 2014 collection.

I’m sure, like me, you may not have considered how great these contrasting prints would’ve worked together, but that is the beauty and allure of peeking inside Solange’s eclectic closet.

It is a shame we can’t see her shoes here; I am guessing she’s wearing an elaborate pair of heels by either Nicholas Kirkwood or Sophia Webster.

Solange Knowles In Zero + Maria Cornejo & Clover Canyon – The Fader magazine’s Uncapped Event

Solange Knowles In Zero + Maria Cornejo & Clover Canyon - The Fader magazine’s Uncapped Event

Solange Knowles performed during The Fader magazine’s Uncapped event held at the Atlantis Laundromat in Brooklyn, New York, yesterday evening.

She arrived wearing a Zero + Maria Cornejo printed long-sleeve jumpsuit with a wrap front which she styled with a pattern-packed Nicholas Kirkwood for Peter Pilotto open-toe booties from the Spring 2013 collection featuring cut-out details, a beaded lace-up strap and a patent-leather panel at the heel.

The singer had me at the jumpsuit, but completely swept me off my feet with the shoe choice. I love the contrasting print and complementary colours. Were the shoes a step too far for you?

For her performance the print-loving songstress turned to one of her favourite brands of the moment, Clover Canyon, donning an embroidered sweater shirt and pineapple jacquard shorts from their Resort 2014 collection.

This look was also paired with statement-making heels with multi-colour snakeskin panels from the ALDO Rise x Preen Spring 2013 collection providing a striking contrast once again.

If I could pick two pieces from this look I would love to own the jumpsuit and the second pair of heels.

Solange Knowles In Clover Canyon – Pitchfork Music Festival

Solange Knowles In Clover Canyon - Pitchfork Music Festival

Over the weekend, Solange Knowles was back to her signature pattern-play, as she had us reading the fine print at the Pitchfork Music Festival, hosted at Union Park in Chicago, Illinois.

Her intricately patterned Clover Canyon Fall 2013 ensemble, painted with gold mythological stallions and decorative icons, had ‘Solange’ written all over it.

I love the warm vibrancy that the songstress brought to these separates, finishing the look with another incarnation of the on-trend white pump: sling-backs by Alexander Wang.

Her ‘fro seems to have officially made its big and bold return, too.

Solange Knowles In Prada – ‘Blue Jasmine’ New York Premiere

Solange Knowles In Prada - 'Blue Jasmine' New York Premiere

Solange Knowles attended the ‘Blue Jasmine’ New York premiere held at MOMA yesterday evening in New York City alongside Cate Blanchett.

I was completely crestfallen when I saw her in this head-to-toe Prada Spring 2013 look as there isn’t much I like about it.

Her mint-green top and skirt with floral appliqués are considerably more wearable than the complicated layered look which took to the runway, yet even Solange can’t sell me this muted version.

I wasn’t a fan of this collection and few pieces off the runway have piqued my interest.

Even with the Prada accessories, including a glittery bag and pink bow-accented sandals, I find myself being more excited about the return of her ‘fro.
