2009 MusiCares “Person Of The Year” Gala, LA

Camilla Belle arrived at this event glowing with pure gorgeousity, wearing a short magenta Marchesa dress.

The mini dress had a multitude of beautiful embellishments all over the top half of the dress, and a satin skirt which kicks out at the back.

My number 2 girl crush completed the look with a Jimmy Choo Kase oval clutch, and silver peep-toes.

AMPAS’ Scientific And Technical Awards Dinner, LA

I really wanted to love this gorgeous Oscar de la Renta strapless gown, but it’s Jessica Biel who ruins this for me.

This could be in on a mannequin for all the life she is putting into this gown.

2009 Writers Guild Awards, LA

Kate Walsh was one of the presenters at this event, and she looked so very harming wearing a black strapless Missoni Spring 2009 embellished gown.

Mena Suvari wore a Missoni look very similar to this, but hers was a jumpsuit.

“He’s Just Not That Into You” Australian Premiere

Ginnifer Goodwin braved the rain to attend this premiere wearing a lime green Brian Reyes Spring 2009 dress, with a rise and fall hem, and a matching croc belt.

She completed her look with black sandals.

I was loving the longer locks from the LA premiere. I’m not loving the crop so much.

The Reader Berlin Film Festival Premiere

This Lanvin tiered dress Kate Winslet chose for this premiere was perfectly pretty, but I am dying for her to get back to her colourful red carpet dresses.

At the moment it’s black, after black, after black with no wow-factor.

I hope she doesn’t wear black at the Oscars. I might just lose it if she does.

CBS’s The Early Show, New York

To promotes her new movie He’s Just Not Into You on CBS’s The Early Show, Jennifer Connelly looked very chic in a Balenciaga Pre-Fall 2008 ensemble, with Christian Louboutin Mary Jane heels.

Vogue Pre-BAFTA Party

Julia Restoin Roitfeld’s mini black embellished Balmain Spring 2009 dress, is dangerously close to giving her a wardrobe malfunction.

Claudia Schiffer doesn’t seem to have made an effort for this event.

“Late Show with David Letterman”, New York

Whilst Isla Fisher posed for photographers outside the David Letterman show, she wore a pretty white Zac Posen cap sleeve dress.

She gave her look an edge by wearing a clunky silver statement necklace, and Christian Louboutin Very Galaxy heels.

“The Private Lives of Pippa Lee” Photocall – Berlin Film Festival

Blake Lively is not only bland in New York, but also bland in Berlin.

Why did she just stop trying?

What is she wearing? Well Vena Cava of course, with Moschino Mary Janes.

Paris Hilton Arrives In London

Apparently there were pink taxis all over London yesterday, which could have only meant that Paris Hilton was in town.

Paris arrived at her press screening of Paris Hilton’s British Best Friend, wearing a very cute pale pink silk chiffon Jenny Packham dress with silver crystal beading embellishment.

Her silver pumps were also embellished, and she arrived with a Fendi bag, and winter white coat with a fur collar.

Nokia 5800 Launch Party, London

Of course Paris did not have an early night. She attended this Nokia launch event wearing a cute heavily embellished halter dress by Thai designer Disaya, with matching two tone heels.

Here we see yet another interesting look from Lady Ga-Ga.

With her hair in her now trademark Minnie Mouse-esque bow, the singer wore a black ultra-tight mini dress, with a large latex bow on the front.

She partnered her look with hot pink heels, black Ray Bans and leather gloves.

Quite a tame look for her ;)

VV Brown stood out in a bright blue Ashish for Topshop sequined mini dress. She paired her dress with leggings and peep-toe lace-up ankle boots.

The singer’s hair was rolled up into a retro quiff.

G’Day Australia Black Tie Gala, New York

Nicole Kidman stood alongside director/friend Baz Lurhmann at the G’Day Australia black tie gala at New York Waldorf Astoria Hotel.

The actress wore an incredibly sexy black gown, with an asymmetrical neckline, and a very daring thigh-high split.

She surprisingly completed her look with a pair of neon orange heels.

Santa Barbara Film Festival

Penelope Cruz was presented with the Chopin Outstanding Performer of the Year trophy on Saturday night during the 24th Annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

The Spanish actress wore a black dress Azzedine Alaia sleeveless dress with black tights and black cut-out pumps.

The dress is cute, but the camera is unforgiving, as it exposes her flesh coloured satin bra underneath.

After a succession of unimpressive red carpet looks, I am starting to worry that she will not wow me at the Oscars next month.

Costa Book Awards 2009, London

Rosamund Pike arrived wearing a RM by Roland Mouret Zola sleeveless dress.

You may not be able to see from this picture, but the dress has a very heavily detailed nude shoulder straps, pleats on the hip, a fish tail style to the front of the skirt.

“Hedda Gabler” Broadway Opening Night After Party, New York

Mary Louise Parker wore an satin teal blue Carlos Miele Spring 2008 halter dress, with black heels and Ivanka Trump jewels.

Model of the Year winner, Jourdan Dunn strikes a pose wearing a gorgeous Stella McCartney white strapless mini dress, with embroidered detail on the bodice. She wore her dress with thick black tights and studded heels.

The model beat Agyness Deyn and Lily Donaldson to this deserved title.

Alexa Chung teamed her boho Future Classics Spring 2009 babydoll with ankle boots, a skinny scarf and a Mulberry for Giles black patent clutch.

Alexa looks fab in this “I just threw it on” look.

Erin O’Connor, as you would expect, is beautifully dramatic wearing a black Vivienne Westwood taffeta gown, with at snake-skin tuxedo jacket from Topshop.

She completed her look with a black hat.

Oh how very British.

Pixie Geldof wore a grey woolly mammoth Mulberry Fall 2008 jacket over her black tuxedo jacket, chain-mail top and black leggings.

I really like this look, as it is very much her own, and she is not trying to be anyone else.

Rosamund Pike’s velvet blue cropped jacket really brings life to her navy Roksanda Ilincic dress with a rosette detail.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor teams her Chanel purse with a black Topshop dress, white tights and Mary Janes.

The singer is doing so well to conceal her baby bump.

Twiggy arrived on the red carpet with her daughter Laura.

The model icon wore a Stella McCartney Pre-Fall 2008 sequined dress, with purple tights and a black tuxedo jacket.

We have seen Twiggy wear this dress many times before, but when she looks this great in it, who cares?

Yasmin Le Bon drapes a – hopefully faux fur – jacket over her shoulder, so we can see her burnt orange Halston Fall 2008 halter gown.

Emilia Fox as always is chic perfection, wearing a black dress with a black overlay and lace details on the hem.

I am not diggin’ Tamara Mellon’s bangs, but I do love her sequined coat, which she wears over her LBD. Her accessories are of course Jimmy Choo.

Is there a man fashion designer L’Wren Scott does not tower over? At 6ft 4in, and more in heels. I guess not.

The chic designer of course wore her own designs, opting for a body-contouring Fall 2008 metallic and lace dress, with a feathered hat to match.

Designer of the Year Luella Bartley, wore a purple cropped blazer and an asymmetric skirt with lace details from her own Spring 2009 collection.

TV presenter Mariella Frostrup wore this beautiful dark purple L’Wren Scott Fall 2008 shift dress with a embellished necklace.

She complimented her dress with gold peep-toes.

Claudia Schiffer wore a Forest green RM by Roland Mouret Anvers dress, with black pumps.

If it weren’t for the hat, I would not have recognised Roisin Murphy, who is posing here with Accessory Designer of the Year winner Rupert Sanderson.

That is because the singer usually wears something so cutting edge and loud, you can’t help but admire her.

This for Roisin is safe, and tame.

Model Jade Parfitt wears one of my favourite dresses from the Giles Fall 2008 collection. The dress was presented in black, but I much prefer this red version.

I just wish she had worn different shoes though.

Katie Grand, former editor of the hugely influential Pop magazine arrived with Giles Deacon wearing his Giles Spring 2009 space age silver front zipped pants, with a black top and a boa, which was also presented with most of the pieces from Giles Spring 2009 collection.

She is carrying the Prada sequin ombre clutch that is currently top of my wish list.

The winners were:

Designer of the Year:
Luella Bartley
Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Design: Stephen Jones
Accessory Designer: Rupert Sanderson
Menswear Designer: Christopher Bailey for Burberry
Model of the Year: Jourdan Dunn
Red Carpet Designer: Matthew Williamson
Special Award for Bespoke: Richard James
Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator: Tim Walker

Swarovski Emerging Talent Award Accessories: Nicholas Kirkwood
Swarovski Emerging Talent Award Ready-to-Wear: Louise Goldin

London Fashion Week started yesterday and I was privileged to be one of the first to see Alice Temperley’s Spring 2009 show this afternoon. Albeit with a very restricted view, but at least I can say I was there.

Temperley London returned to London after three years of showing at New York Fashion Week and the British designer displayed lots of ruffles, Grecian inspired dresses, striking headwear, wide-studded belts, starred belts, harem pants, and high-waisted trousers.

The collection was very pretty, very playful and vivid with colours of bright cobalt blues, lavenders, white, black and passionate pinks.

I have always been very confidence in my appearance, but those 6ft + models with their tiny frames sure know how to give a girl a complex.

I was hoping that Coco Rocha, would be there, but on reflexion I may have had to embarrass myself by asking for a photo with her.

Jourdan Dunn is even more beautiful in real life, and very tall, and this is coming from a woman who is 5ft 11in tall without heels.

It was very enjoyable to see a collection in real life, but it all goes by so quickly.

Here are some pictures I dared to take as the models did a run-through.

Unfortunately some curly hair geek got in the way of my camera as I tried to take a photo of Jourdan Dunn in her blue and white check shirt (grrr).

People watching is always fun, and at times it was more fun than the show itself. Emilia Fox, Laura Bailey, Rosamund Pike, Jacquetta Wheeler, Mischa Barton and Peaches Geldof were all in the front row, giggling to each other like school girls at camp. So cute to watch.

Mishca Barton was by far the most high profile in the front row. The actress has worn Temperley many times before, wore a Temperley London Mini Ermine dress, which had fringe tab detailing.

She also wore a black fringed jacket, which I was convinced was from Kate Moss’ Topshop collection, but I would guess as it is Mischa, that it is probably vintage.

Peaches Geldof was a little less enthused than a very smiley Mischa Barton, despite wearing a very interesting military style Temperley London Viscount dress.

Rosamund Pike was not hard to spot in the front row bench wearing a luminous pink dress.

Tomorrow I will be going to Ana Sekularac’s Spring 2009 show. Can’t wait.

“The Brothers Bloom”, Toronto Film Festival, Canada

I would not have thought Rachel Weisz would wear Herve Leger, but she looks amazing.

She completes her look with ruby red lips, silver sandals and a silver clutch.

Save the Children, New York

Julianne Moore looks chic dressed in a green and black print Thakoon Fall 2008 blouse, which she wears with black pants and black suede knee-high boots.

Techcrunch 50 + MySpace Conference 2008, San Francisco

I so much prefer Demi Moore with wavy hair. It really suits her face better than dead straight.

The age defying actress is wearing a black and grey printed Amanda Wakeley Fall 2008 dress with black patent peep-toes.

“Late Show with David Letterman”, New York

Showing off her perfectly toned body, Jada Pinkett-Smith wore a black one-sleeved pencil dress, with studded detail on the hem and around the waist.

She completed her look with a pair of the very popular YSL Trib Two Platform Pumps.

The Serpentine Gallery – Summer Party, London

This Summer Party in London is very ironic, since we have not had a summer to speak of here in London, but Rosamund Pike certainly brighten things up wearing a marble printed Alberta Ferretti Fall 2008 dress, with a purple coat from the same collection.

I understand it was cold and rainy last night, but I would have loved to have seen more of the dress.

Joely Richardson wasn’t going to let the bad weather spoil her dress choice, as she opted for this ivory YSL Pre-Fall 2008 dress, which had very interesting embroidery patterns on the shoulders.

Cartier International Polo, Windsor, UK

This peachy dress should technically wash Dita von Teese out, but the colour looks divine against her milky skin.

As always Dita wears her trademark red lips and nails.

I do love this multi-floral mini dress on Kelly Brook, but she should have lost those ridiculous red gloves.

Since Emma Watson is no longer being styled by Chanel, her look has steadily heading down hill. This Charles Anastase dress does absolutely nothing for her.

Rosamund Pike, like Kelly, opted for lots of colour.

She teams her multi-coloured paisley print Paul & Joe dress with white peep-toe heels and a white Smythson Nancy clutch.

MTV TRL, New York

Emma Stone wore a little black dress with the same Jimmy Choo Glenys Python Sandals that Fergie wore to the Cartier Charity Love Bracelet Launch last month.

These heels do not come in black in the snakeskin, they only come in dark green.

Miley Cyrus wears a pink polka-dot belted Alice + Olivia mini bubble hemmed dress, with eggplant pumps.
