Nieves Alvarez In Fausto Puglisi & Stella McCartney – Solo Moda

NIEVES ALVAREZ In FAUSTO PUGLISI

Last Saturday, Solo Moda host, Nieves Alvarez, showed off her amazingly toned body in two very revealing dresses with side-cutouts from Fausto Puglisi’s Spring 2013 collection.

Nieves paired the baby-blue version with coral Christian Louboutin ‘Pigalle’ pumps. While Louboutin’s Pigalle pumps usually add sexiness and edge to almost any outfit, here the bright hue felt a tad tacky in combination with the overtly sexy dress.

Silver metallic Jimmy Choo sandals completed the pastel-pink number, resulting in a more polished and feminine combination, but I can’t say I’m a fan of either look.

Nieves accessorized both dresses with jewels by Yanes.

Nieves Alvarez In Burberry Prorsum & Lanvin – Solo Moda

Nieves Alvarez Burberry

The statuesque Nieves Alvarez dialed up the glam quotient on Solo Moda this weekend.

In keeping with her current one-exclusive-designer-per-episode policy, on Saturday the TV host turned to Burberry Prorsum’s Spring 2013 collection.

Nieves showcased her femme fatale curves in one of my favourites from the collection, the pink jewel-toned metallic strapless dress replete with curve detailing at the corset bust and a subtle peplum detail at the waist. The yellow peep-toe pumps added the perfect finishing touch and pop of colour to this high-shine supercharged look.

Next up, Nieves opted for a studied chic look in a tailored white silk Burberry Prorsum trench with a retro cape paired with cut-out Christian Louboutin ankle boots. I would have loved it if she had opted to inject a touch of colour into this fabulous outerwear with a pair of bold killer heels.

Her final Burberry Prorsum Spring 2013 ensemble is one I’ve admired before on Emma Stone at the 2012 CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund Awards. This gorgeous structured navy-blue peplum corset top with a black waistband donned with a decadent sparkly green pencil skirt is a stellar look that could have been a real winner had Nieves chosen a more dramatic shoe to complete the look.

Who Wore Emilio Pucci Better…Olga Kurylenko or Nieves Alvarez?

Who Wore Pucci Better

Back in September, Olga Kurylenko attended the Venice Film Festival premiere of her latest movie, ‘To The Wonder’, wearing an Emilio Pucci baby-blue frock with sheer panelling and embroidered details from the Fall 2012 collection.

Her pretty dress was styled with nude Louboutin pumps and minimal makeup.

‘Solo Moda’ host Nieves Alvarez wore the same dress a few months later while attending the Vogue & Mario Testino December Issue launch event held at Fernán Núñez Palace in Madrid, Spain.

Opting for pops of colour via her Christian Louboutin sandals and Moschino clutch, she let herself down with a lacklustre hairstyle, so Olga and her glossy wavy tresses win for me.

Nieves Alvarez In David Delfin & Gucci – Solo Moda

Nieves Alvarez In David Delfin - Solo Moda

Nieves Alvarez’s M.O. for Sola Moda this season appears to be sticking to one designer during the show.

On Saturday, she exclusively wore pieces from David Delfin’s Spring 2013 collection.

First up was a white sheath dress decorated with multi-coloured crystals, which she styled with bi-colour Christian Louboutin Arnoeud ankle boots with a cute bow accent. I love the pieces separately, but not together as the boots feel too weighty against the dress.

As you know, I love jumpsuits, but I’m not sure this David Delfin piece is something I would wear. Alvarez, on the other hand, is working the hell out of this biker-inspired piece with multiple zippers. I also love her embellished Louboutins with this look.

Christian Louboutin ‘Summerissima’ sandals were perfectly colour co-ordinated to her David Delfin red-and-white trompe l’oeil dress.

Nieves Alvarez In Roberto Cavalli & Zuhair Murad – Solo Moda

Nieves Alvarez In Roberto Cavalli & Zuhair Murad - Solo Moda

Nieves Alvarez presented the new season of her TV show Solo Moda in fine style, as we’ve come to expect.

On Saturday, she donned three Roberto Cavalli looks, which mostly had a masculine feel to them.

First up was an all-black Spring 2013 look, featuring shredded-leather rock-chick pants with a sexy sheer blouse, which she styled with a black tuxedo jacket with satin lapels. I can imagine Kate Moss donning these pants at some point.

The following two, similar, looks are from Cavalli’s colourful Resort 2013 collection.

Sporting a blue-and-white printed suit similar to the one owned by Karolina Kurkova, the TV host added white sandals with pink accents to girlify her look.

Keeping those same heels, her third look, with the same print in dark pink, has a more relaxed vacation vibe, with loose-fitted pants and a short-sleeved blouse.
