Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Natalie Portman also wore Lanvin last night, but she attended the 2010 New York City Ballet Spring Gala.

On this occasion I like Natalie’s look, mostly because she added that jeweled belt to give the look some definition and some shape.

Without this belt the dress may have overwhelmed Natalie’s petite frame.

The strappy sandals are perfect, but the black clutch kinda leaves me cold.

It stands out too much, and not in a good way.

I wish she’d chosen something that would’ve complemented her look.

Natalie Portman looked in good spirits as she arrived at the RAAD Grey Goose Party held at Soho House in LA last night.

The talented actress was wearing an Isabel Marant Spring 2010 ensemble paired with black peep-toes and a black satin clutch.

This collection sold out in a nano second on Net-A-Porter.com such is it’s popularity.

I love her Isabel Marant lurex striped mini dress in silver, grey, pink, and teal.

She paired her dress with the runway tweed jacket which has a glimmering jeweled trim and black mini pom poms.

I wish she hadn’t buttoned the jacket, but this is a really cute look.

9th Annual New York Times Arts & Leisure Weekend, New York

Natalie Portman has done something many of us wish we could have done…got our hands on the Rodarte for Target collection.

The petite actress wore a mustard slip dress, with a cute tulle overlay and a bow details on the shoulders which was featured in Teen Vogue.

She covered up wearing a black belted cardigan, whilst completing her look with Stella McCartney booties.

Natalie’s dress is now sold out, but you can find other pieces on from this collection on Target’s website.

Theatre Royal, London

Anna Friel was spotted leaving the Theatre Royal in London after her final performance of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” looking sensational wearing a Herve Leger Resort 2010 black and white bandage dress.

Like most of us in London she sported a (faux) fur coat in a bid to keep warm.

2010 NBC Universal’s Press Tour Cocktail Party, LA

When I saw this pretty pink Elise Øverland Resort 2010 dress on Melanie Brown, I was considering giving her a first ever compliment.

On reflection everything feels heavily weighted to the right with her one-sleeved dress and side-swept bun.

Also the necklace was so unnecessary with this pretty dress.

Close…but no Zig-a-zig-ha.

Dior Cocktails For Marion Cotillard And “Nine”, New York

Miss Dior aka Marion Cotillard looked beautiful wearing a silver lurex Christian Dior dress, which reminds me of the dress Charlize Theron wore last year.

I love the dress and the ruby pumps, but not so keen on the poodle perm.

“Leap Year” New York Premiere

A Pea In A Pod is the usual destination for expectant celebrities, but Amy Adams has Ms. Carolina Herrera on speed-dial.

The designer has reworked pieces from her current collections to create a custom-made wardrobe for Amy which included this red silk georgette dress.

I guess Ms. Herrera has found her new muse. Amy is glowing.

How I Met Your Mother`s 100th Episode Celebration, LA

Alyson Hannigan – the People’s Choice Favorite TV Actress – walked the red carpet wearing a BCBG printed dress with a cascading ruffle front.

She kept her accessories simple adding black clutch and Jimmy Choo “Lace” black patent sandals.

I’ve been dying for someone to wearing a look from Stella McCartney’s Spring 2010 collection, and that honour went to Natalie Portman.

The actress was on the show to promote her new movie “Brothers” also starring Tobey Maguire and Jake Gyllenhaal, which hits theater’s December 4.

Letterman called it “The finest movie made in the last 12, 20 years”, in fact he gushed non stop about the movie during her interview.

Natalie is radiant in her strapless blue mini Stella McCartney Spring 2010 button down dress, with fold detail on the neckline and an A-line skirt.

Her hair is swept to one-side with a jeweled clip decorating her hair, plus she wears her dress with the same purple Aldo heels which she wore with her blue Jason Wu dress.

Unfortunately the screen-grab isn’t doing this dress any justice, so please view the you tube video below.

I WISH this was worn on the red carpet, it has to be one of her best ever looks and Natalie has had plenty of fine moments.

Now I’m the one gushing.

I always think of Proenza Schouler as an edgy label, and Natalie Portman as a sweet delicate flower so the two together shouldn’t work, but she looked stunning in this ombre sequined Spring 2010 Proenza Schouler tank dress.

I said in an earlier post that ’tis the season to wear sequins and sparkle which Natalie certainly does here.

Her hair was pulled back as she wore black peep-toes and carrying a cute Judith Leiber Discoball sphere clutch to complete her look.

Brooke Shields wore a Malandrino Fall 2009 off-the-shoulder ivory dress with a bird embroidery detail going down one side, plus a tulle overlay.

I love the dress on the runway, but it looks really loose on Brooke and as a result the dress appears to be creased even though I’m sure it isn’t.

The Stella McCartney Resort 2010 collection has by far been the most popular collection worn by celebrities this year.

It was only a matter of time before someone ruined the good feeling.

I expected it to be Heidi Montag, but American comic Kristen Wiig opted for the shorter version as worn by Rachel McAdams.

The problem isn’t the dress, the problem are the red tights and the way it makes me think that Kristen is channeling her inner elf.

As cute as Rosie Perez’ dress is, the first person that came to mind when I saw this dress was Taylor Swift because she has worn a very similar dress recently.

Plus Rosie’s dress feels more suited to someone of Taylor age group.

Natalie Portman arrived at the New York City Ballet opening night gala this week wearing a Vena Cava Spring 2010 navy and white printed dress.

I would’ve thought going to a ballet required a look more regal and elegant.

This look could just as easily have been worn to run errands in.

I love the dress, but not for this occasion.

Of course Catherine Malandrino gave me the glamour I was desperately missing from Natalie.

The designer wore a silver metallic gown with a deep plunge and draped hips of her own design from her Resort 2010 collection.

The gown was worn with a large statement necklace which complemented her gown perfectly.

As much as I miss her raven locks, this warmer auburn colour is just divine on her.

Dita von Teese wore this same dress in black recently.

Erin Fetherston’s pieces are always have a fantasy princess element to them, and this cute dress is no different.

What makes this particular piece interesting is the floral print and the sharp asymmetrical hem.

Mila Kunis gives us a rare smile wearing a Dolce & Gabbana grey ruched strapless cocktail dress, with a contrasting black waistband.

Her popular dress was worn with a black blazer and satin black pumps.
