14th Annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball

14th Annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball

A group of lovelies flocked to the 14th annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball, hosted on Saturday (June 6) at a private Mandeville Canyon Estate in Los Angeles, California.

Elizabeth Banks
: Looking every bit like a ray of sunshine, the actress donned a bright chartreuse Prada jacquard-embroidered frock with nude lace Jimmy Choo shoes and Kwiat earrings. The quirkier nature of Prada designs can be problematic on the red carpet, but Elizabeth pulls off the bold look with elegance and aplomb.

Leven Rambin
: I loved seeing Leven in this striking Marchesa semi-sheer gown with exploded paisley embroidery. The sleek updo and deep red lip added another layer of vibrancy to this fresh outing.

Sharon Stone
: While the two-piece ensemble itself wasn’t so flattering to Sharon’s beautiful figure, what was more bothersome was the strange collection of accessories that cluttered the look—from the pashmina shawl to the overly decorative earrings and sandals.

Elizabeth Banks In Osman – ‘Love & Mercy’ LA Premiere

Elizabeth Banks In Osman - 'Love & Mercy' LA Premiere

Elizabeth Banks attended the premiere of ‘Love & Mercy’ at the AMPAS Samuel Goldwyn Theater on Tuesday (June 2) in Beverly Hills, California.

As you know, I love nothing more than a sighting of Elizabeth on the red carpet – yes more so than the great Cate or Diane – so you won’t be surprised to learn that I was swooning at her latest offering.

Her Osman Fall 2015 dress not only raises the sensory factor via its bold red hue, but also via the sleek fit-and-flare silhouette and tasteful side cut-outs.

I know some aren’t fans of matchy matchy looks as its often considered that the wearer hasn’t been creative enough, but I live for a well-done matchy moment.

With the addition of Elizabeth’s red Jimmy Choo ‘Candy’ clutch and red Sophia Webster ‘Rosalind Crystal’ sandals this look couldn’t have been more perfectly styled.

As always, bravo Miss Banks, bravo.

Elizabeth Banks In Marchesa – ‘Pitch Perfect 2’ LA Premiere

Elizabeth Banks In Marchesa - 'Pitch Perfect 2' LA Premiere

Elizabeth Banks attended the ‘Pitch Perfect 2’ LA premiere held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Friday (May 8) in Los Angeles, California.

As the producer/director of this movie, Elizabeth’s red carpet style has shifted from glorious Couture gowns to chic separates and few jumpsuits, while still maintaining her magnetic appeal.

That was the case when she stepped out on the red carpet wearing this Marchesa Fall 2015 look featuring a fringed halter scarf and sleek black trousers.

This look means business without being boring or stale.

I think those who tag Elizabeth as being consistently over-dressed don’t give her enough credit.

Elizabeth Banks In Michael Kors – 2015 Met Gala

Elizabeth Banks In Michael Kors - 2015 Met Gala

Elizabeth Banks attended the 2015 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4).

I saw little of the ‘China: Through the Looking Glass’ theme in her Michael Kors cutout gown that needed a good steam for the wrinkles, although it was rendered in a glorious shade of teal blue.

Her architectural updo, along with a Lee Savage ‘Infinite Space’ clutch and Kara Ross ring, served to create a futuristic flair.

Perhaps I am overly disappointed as I was expecting so much more from the actress.

Elizabeth Banks In Elie Saab – ‘Pitch Perfect’ London Premiere

Elizabeth Banks In Elie Saab - ‘Pitch Perfect’ London Premiere

After the Berlin photocall, Elizabeth Banks jetted directly to England for a VIP screening of ‘Pitch Perfect’ at London’s The Mayfair Hotel on Thursday (April 30).

Returning to a darker style aesthetic from her previous hyper-colourful mood, her Elie Saab Fall 2015 belted gown possessed a romantic moodiness that may be dulled for some who are long fatigued by the sheer trend.

With leafy embroidery replacing beaded embellishment, the dress was notable more for its restrained lack of the shimmer and shine that often characterizes the designer’s confections.

Not your standard fairytale ballgown, this one had a sense of deeper, woodsy mystique that Elizabeth wore beautifully.

Elizabeth Banks In Peter Pilotto – ‘Pitch Perfect 2’ Berlin Photocall

Elizabeth Banks In Peter Pilotto - 'Pitch Perfect 2’ Berlin Photocall
Elizabeth Banks attended the ‘Pitch Perfect 2’ photocall, held at The Ritz-Carlton in Berlin, Germany on Wednesday (April 29).

Charmingly punchy in a Peter Pilotto Fall 2015 look, the actress captured attention with the geometric, patchwork appeal of the asymmetric dress.

While the rational side of me is saying that this look shouldn’t work for all its mismatched pieces pinned together with button-style hardware, there is something interestingly fun about the mix of patterns seen in the structured, linear bodice and the flowing, ocean hues of the scarf-like skirt.

Her pretty, loose waves and glossy nude lip also softened the look for a radiant finish.

Like her last Peter Pilotto ensemble, she opted to keep her footwear on the simple side, this time in black Jimmy Choo ‘Taris’ sandals. Are you missing a more exciting, colourful pair?

Elizabeth Banks In Emilia Wickstead – ‘Pitch Perfect 2’ Paris Premiere

Elizabeth Banks In Emilia Wickstead - 'Pitch Perfect 2' Paris Premiere

Elizabeth Banks attends the ‘Pitch Perfect 2’ Paris premiere at UGC Cine Cite on Tuesday (April 28) in Paris, France.

Upon seeing this all black look consisting of a high-neck Emilia Wickstead Fall 2015 dress, styled with a Anya Hindmarch ‘Crisp’ packet clutch, Sophia Webster pumps and Ileana Makri diamond curtain earrings, I asked myself – should I be worried?

The one lady I rely upon (other than Solange Knowles, Anya O’Reilly and Gillian Jacobs) to bring some colour to the red carpet is doing a Jennifer Aniston? Say it ain’t so?

But in reality Elizabeth is showcasing that she has more than one string to her bow. It’s doesn’t have to be Elie Saab Couture for all premieres all of the time.

I love that this look is visually striking, while embodying a subtle sheen that no doubt garnered envious looks.
