Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Elizabeth Banks schooled January Jones on how to rock a Mary Katrantzou dress on the red carpet tonight at the 2012 Met Gala.

When I learnt that Elizabeth would be wearing the British-based designer, I knew she wouldn’t wimp out, and I’m proud that she picked the least safe look and worked it.

The digitally printed dress with an oversized peplum and central split was teamed with a red clutch and Christian Louboutin peep-toes with an embellished heel.

I don’t suppose this will go down well with many, but she is my favourite so far.

A chic updo and a pink lip colour completed her look.

Despite matching the red carpet, no one could miss Elizabeth Banks at the 2012 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, held on Saturday night at the Washington Hilton.

The ‘Hunger Games’ actress seems to still be embracing her character, Effie Trinket’s love for bright colour on the red carpet. No complaints here.

On this occasion, Elizabeth opted for a bright-red Antonio Berardi Fall 2012 dress.

The otherwise basic strapless column gown boasts a pleated peplum which narrows her waist.

Elizabeth accessorized her dress with a selection of gold cuff bracelet, gold hooped earrings, plus a Lara Bohnic black-and-gold clutch.

A tousled updo and a crimson lip colour completed her bombshell look.

Elizabeth Banks helped celebrate the start of the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival by attending the ‘The Five Year Engagement’ premiere opening night party, held at the MOMA in New York City.

The actress wore a Peter Pilotto Spring 2012 ensemble.

The look featured an abstract red-and-navy short-sleeve top paired with a cut-out lace-effect chiffon skirt with a nude underlay.

Elizabeth is one actress who you can never predict when it comes to red-carpet dressing.

She always gives us a wide range of varied looks.

With her hair swept over one shoulder she completed the look with blue suede pumps.

Elizabeth Banks promo tour for ‘The Hunger Games’ was considerably shorter than co-star Jennifer Lawrence, but it was just as enjoyable.

In fact I preferred Elizabeth’s run because of all the colour and bedazzlement which stayed true to her character Effie Trinket.

She started with orange Atelier Versace and ended with orange Elie Saab.

Bill Blass was my favourite.

Elizabeth Banks attended the Restoration Hardware Spring 2012 launch held in LA yesterday evening.

‘The Hunger Games’ actress is keeping up her love affair with colour by wearing an orange Andrew Gn Spring 2012 dress.

Her beautifully dress with draped sleeves and skirt plus a ruffled detail cascading from the waist was teamed with a simple matching belt instead of the beaded belt presented on the runway.

A simple side-parted bun, gold earrings and rose-gold Christian Louboutin mirrored peep-toes completed the look.

BDOTW was really hard this week, which was just what we needed after the previous one.

You eventually voted for Jennifer Lawrence in Prabal Gurung as the best dressed, proving that she was the golden girl in more ways than one.

As I said during the week, Elizabeth’s run has been more impressive and consistent for me.

The magpie in me couldn’t split her Bill Blass and Elie Saab gowns.

In the end I went for the Bill Blass, because I loved the sleek silhouette and the matching clutch, plus yellow is not a colour we often see worn on the red carpet.
