Cate Blanchett In Michael Kors – BAFTA LA 2014 Awards Season Tea Party

Cate Blanchett In Michael Kors - BAFTA LA 2014 Awards Season Tea Party

Cate Blanchett added a vibrant hit of colour to the BAFTA LA Awards Season Tea Party held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverley Hills yesterday (January 11).

Cate’s red button-up Michael Kors Spring 2014 dress with puffed shoulders was simple yet impactful.

I like the fact she didn’t over-dress for this event but still remained true to her stand-out style.

I’m so relieved to see Cate style this everyday style dress with Christian Louboutin blue python ‘Pigalle’ pumps. They add a much needed hit of glamour and edge to the look.

Cate Blanchett In Michael Kors – 3rd AACTA International Awards

Cate Blanchett In Michael Kors - 3rd AACTA International Awards

Cate Blanchett was honoured for her performance in Blue Jasmine last night at the 3rd annual AACTA International Awards held at Sunset Marquis Hotel & Villas in West Hollywood on Friday (January 10).

Accepting the best actress award in an on-trend fluted midi-length Micahel Kors Spring 2014 dress, Chopard earrings and Roger Vivier heels, Cate stayed true to her signature demure and feminine style.

While the on-trend sheer panel of the dress could have proved a tricky piece to pull-off, Cate styled it elegantly and with grace.

The shoes, are somewhat of a disappointment.

While they add an embellished touch, I can’t help but think a killer sandal would have been a stronger choice and would have added a dash of sexiness to this otherwise simple look.

Cate Blanchett In Stella McCartney – W Magazine ‘Best Performances’ Portfolio Celebration

Cate Blanchett In Stella McCartney S14 - W Magazine ‘Best Performances’ Portfolio Celebration

Cate Blanchett joined a host of stars including Kirsten Dunst, Naomie HarrisOlivia Wilde and Lupita Nyong’o for the W Magazine celebration of the ‘Best Performances’ portfolio held at Chateau Marmont on Thursday (January 9) in Los Angeles, California.

The Australian actress kept it simple, wearing a Stella McCartney black knit sweater and high-waist trousers styled with a linked Kara Ross black-and-gold necklace with Roger Vivier black-and-gold shoes.

Her makeup was fairly neutral save for the heavy kohl-rimmed eyes, with glossy nude lips and a simple updo completing her look.

I’m guessing she’s saving the wow factor for Sunday night.

W Magazine’s Movie Issue

W Magazine Movie Issue

W magazine’s ‘Movie’ issue features six different covers chronicling the best films and performances of 2013, including Amy Adams, Oprah, Lupita Nyong’o, Jennifer Lawrence (in Dolce & Gabbana), Cate Blanchett and Matthew McConaughey, all of which were captured by Juergen Teller.

The surprising thing about these covers is that Jennifer doesn’t appear to be wearing Dior; that honour was bestowed upon Lupita.

Jennifer shared with the mag that moment when she fell at the 2013 Oscars, saying “I was at the Oscars, waiting to hear if my name was called, and I kept thinking, ‘Cakewalk, cakewalk, cakewalk’. I thought, ‘Why is ‘cakewalk’ stuck in my head? ’ And then, as I started to walk up the stairs and the fabric from my dress tucked under my feet, I realized my stylist had told me ‘Kick, walk, kick, walk.’ You are supposed to kick the dress out while you walk, and I totally forgot because I was thinking about cake! And that’s why I fell”.

Which cover will you be picking up?

Cate Blanchett In Antonio Berardi – New York Film Critics Circle Awards

Cate Blanchett In Antonio Berardi - New York Film Critics Circle Awards

Cate Blanchett attended the 79th annual New York Film Critics Circle Awards held at The Edison Ballroom on Monday (January 6) in New York City.

The actress wore a silver Antonio Berardi Pre-Fall 2014 dress with a fitted waist and flared skirt with a rise-and-fall hemline featuring a deep-red lining, which she wore with a bold-shouldered cropped jacket which differed from the look book.

The look almost has a medieval-period quality to it, which isn’t an easy look to pull off, but there is no question that the queen does so with great aplomb.

Cate styled the look with Van Cleef & Arpels jewels and black Christian Louboutin pumps.

My only wish here is that she’d considered the lining of the dress and opted for red shoes as pictured on the model.
