Who Wore Elie Saab Better? Aishwarya Rai or Liu Wen

Since Heatworld have copied each of my Who Wore It Better? polls this week, I thought I would stump them today by featuring two stunning beauties that their Kerry Katona loving readers won’t understand.

Aishwarya Rai looked stunning wearing an Elie Saab Spring 2010 gown to the 2010 Longines Charity Dinner which was held in Paris back in June.

I was in total awe of the Indian actress as she took my breath away with her grace and beauty.

Flawless make-up and a gold clutch completed her look.

Chinese supermodel Liu Wen wore the same dress to Marie Claire’s Style event which was held at the Shangri-La Hotel last week. (Check out her amazing Vogue China September 2010 editorial)

She’s no stranger to Elie Saab’s designs, as she walked the runway during his Fall 2010 Couture presentation.

Liu opted for two pops of colour by sporting bold red lips and bubblegum pink Bottega Veneta knot marcapunto stitched clutch.

Although Liu’s pink clutch is a cute idea, I guess I’m more old fashioned because I loved way Aishwarya gold clutch complements the studs on her exquisite gown.

I also prefer this gown with the hair up so Aishwarya wins on two counts.

“Raavan” London Premiere – Aishwarya Rai In Sabyasachi

Aishwarya Rai and her husband Abhishek Bachchan arrived to a superstar welcome on the red carpet at BFI Southbank in London yesterday evening.

Thousands of fans were there to greet the genetically blessed couple.

Aishwarya looked beautiful. I loved that she wore another traditional Indian Sabyasachi sari, but I was crazy about the design.

I really didn’t like the white embroidery on the sleeves. I find it very distracting and it ruined this look for me.

I much preferred the Sabyasachi sari she wore during Cannes Film Festival.

Best Dressed Of The Week – Aishwarya Rai In Elie Saab & Jessica Biel In Diane von Furstenberg

Aishwarya Rai wearing Elie Saab was your best dressed this week.

The Indian actress looked stunning and deserved to win.

Some of you preferred this gown to her all her looks during Cannes Film Festival.

I found it much harder to pick one look this week.

Jessica Biel wasn’t in the BDOTW poll as she came 5th in the CFDA poll, but her tropical print Diane von Furstenberg Carrie Hill beaded dress is the only look that I’ve remembered from this week.

It was a huge departure from her usual safe style and she looked beautiful so she wins for me.

2010 Longines Charity Dinner – Aishwarya Rai In Elie Saab

What a goddess.

Aishwarya Rai looked stunning at the 2010 Longines Charity Dinner which was held at the Rodin Museum in Paris this week.

Longines called her the ‘Ambassadress of Elegance’, and I couldn’t agree with them more.

Her Elie Saab beaded shoulder chiffon gown from the Spring 2010 collection is perfection.

The v neckline extents into a loose draped chiffon detail which cascades down her gown.

I’m especially loving the padded sleeves with chunky beaded embellishment which extends across the nape of the neck and back of shoulders.

She wisely didn’t over do her accessories, as she simply added a gold clutch to her look.

No need to ask, she will be in contention for BDOTW.

2010 Cannes Film Festival: “Raavan” Premiere – Aishwarya Rai In Sabyasachi

Aishwarya Rai appeared coy as she stood by her husband when they attended the “Raavan” Premiere during Cannes Film Festival this evening.

The beautiful actress has worn Elie Saab, Armani Prive and Roberto Cavalli during Cannes, but on this occasion she opted for something more traditional.

Many you had said you hoped she would follow Fan Bingbing’s lead and represent her country on this world stage, and she has done so beautifully.

I see such an innocence here which is in stark contrast to the woman we saw on the red carpet with Eva Longoria a few days ago.

Her embroidered taupe Sabyasachi sari is worn over a forest green ensemble which is known as a choli.

I adore her make-up she’s simply breath-taking.

2010 Cannes Film Festival: “Il Gattopardo” Premiere – Girls In Gucci

Gucci ruled the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival premiere of “Il Gattopardo”.

Camilla Belle and Kate Beckinsale are joined by Aishwarya Rai, Salma Hayek, Lea Seydoux and designer Frida Giannini all wearing Gucci.

Aishwarya wore a one of a kind Gucci magenta pleated chiffon gown.

In comparison to the her other looks, this twisted halter neck gown has been the most flattering to her figure.

Salma wears her second Gucci Première gown of this festival.

On this occasion she opted for a fiery red one shoulder gown with sweeping drape detail across the waist and hip.

The gown dazzles with red bugle beaded embroidered detail.

I like this gown, but her previous gown was far superior.

Lea Seydoux wore a Gucci Première champagne charmeause column gown with cut out sleeves.

The bodice is encrusted with silver and gold metallic beading.

Frida’s sparkled most brightly wearing a silver Gucci Première gown paired with Gucci fine jewelry.

Aishwarya is the most fabulous here.
