Celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose, who also works with Lupita Nyong’o, created Tessa Thompson’s red carpet look for the NAACP Image Awards on Saturday (February 7).
Nick likes to start with a good canvas on the skin. He applied Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer along with the Giorgio Armani Maestro Fusion Makeup Compact and their Light Master Primer with a Beauty Blender to start.
When working on her smoky eye, instead of using a lot of shadows he smudged the liner along the top and bottom lash lines and went back over the lid with the Giorgio Armani Eye Tint in Shadow. It’s dramatic but ends up being softer and easier to wear with a dark lip.
For Nick, false lashes are non-negotiable on the red carpet, but he likes them to look as natural as possible. Tessa wore the Eylure Pro-Lash Individuals with Giorgio Armani Maestro Liquid Eye Liner on top to help conceal the glue. Giorgio Armani Black Ecstasy Mascara was then applied to bring it all together.
Nick applied one coat of the Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro in 504 Ecstasy before applying blush on the apples of the cheeks and a little bit of highlighter to finish off the look.
