Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Anne Hathaway is talented, smart, stylish and gorgeous, so it’s no surprise that many of you wanted tips on how to recreate her look.

Chanel makeup artist Kate Lee created what she calls a “timeless” look for Anne Hathaway at New York’s The Dark Knight Rises premiere, topped off by a rosy lip and a bold brow.

Skincare:
Lee started out by prepping the skin with Chanel Hydra Beauty Serum, quickly following with an oil-free primer to lock in the moisture.

Foundation:
Lee used two foundations: Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 as a light veil around the periphery and then for the areas where she wanted a little more coverage, she used Chanel Perfection Lumiere Long Wear Fluid Makeup SPF 10, which was applied with a nylon brush and blended out with a Beauty Blender sponge.

Blush:
Chanel Powder Blush in Espiegle gave cheeks the perfect flush.

Eye Shadow:
Anne’s lids were given a gentle wash of color with a soft vanilla shadow, and the brow bone was highlighted with Chanel Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Ivory.

Eyeliner:
The lash line was traced with a small brush and Lee used black cake liner.

Mascara:
The lashes were curled with the Chanel Precision Eyelash Curler, and given two generous coats of Chanel Inimitable Waterproof Mascara top and bottom. I then added a few soft faux lashes on the top lash for fullness.

Brows:
Lee used Anastasias Brow Gel to set the brows in place then feathered in a little to perfect their shape.

Lips:
Anne’s pretty lip came from Chanel Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Rivoli, used as a stain, blotting and applying until she got the desired intensity. Lee then added a dab of Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream to add moisture. The result was a beautiful rosy hue.

Celebrity makeup artist Karan Mitchell worked with 20-year-old Selena Gomez to create her Teen Choice Awards look.

Using her hot pink Dsquared² dress for inspiration, Karan gave Selena a fun, flirty look with lots of lashes and pink lip gloss.

Karan focused on Selena’s eyes by layering shadows and liner and applying false lashes. Avon’s Big Color Eye Pencil in Night Glisten gives dramatic definition to Selena’s sultry eye look. Avon’s 8-in-1 Eye Palette in Paradise Greens gave her a smoky eye and dimension through fun neutral colours. Several coats of Avon SuperExtend Extreme Mascara in Black polished off Selena’s extended lashes.

To enhance Selena’s pretty complexion Karan used Avon’s Ideal Flawless Matte Mousse Foundation in Natural Beige and Avon’s Ideal Flawless Concealer Stick in Neutral. To give Selena’s skin a super dewy glow Karan applyed the mousse foundation with a damp makeup sponge and only added concealer under her eyes. For her sunny glow, Karan contoured Selena’s cheeks with Avon’s Hawaiian Shores Bronzing Petals underneath her cheekbones and finished by applying Avon Be Blushed in Golden Rose to her cheekbones for a rosy glow.

Selena’s hot pink dress was matched with Avon’s Big Color Glossy Lip Pencil in Glossy Angelic to complete her look.

Teen Choice Award’s Breakout Artist Winner Carly Rae Jepsen certainly looked like she was having a ‘Good Time’ as she glowed both on the purple carpet and on stage performing the Summer Song award-winning hit ‘Call Me Maybe’.

Celebrity makeup artist Desirae Cherman reveals exactly how she gave Carly her glowing look. To complement her fresh and clean makeup look, Cherman “decided to do a smokey eye to bring an element of drama to the look.”

Skin:
“I always love for skin to glow! The best way to achieve that is to start with good skin prep. I started with Jurlique Lavender Hydrating Mist to help hydrate as well as balance.”

Eyes:
“I like to start with the eyes, while the skin soaks in the prep products. I primed her eyelid, then penciled above her lashes and blended onto her crease followed with a shimmering eye shadow.”

Foundation:
“I used a medium coverage foundation, Dermablend Smooth Indulgence Foundation, in Fawn to really give the skin a glow. Also used Dermablend Smooth Indulgence Concealer in nude to highlight and brighten the under eye area.”

Dermablend Smooth Indulgence Foundation provides twice the coverage of classic foundations without the heavy feel. Evens complexion and won’t enhance the appearance of fine lines or surface imperfections. Lightweight, blendable texture for a flawless matte finish. Delivers all-day hydration and 12 hours of wear.

The Smooth Indulgence Concealer evens out your complexion and won’t enhance fine lines or surface imperfections.

Lip:
“Here I went with a hint of light pink lip stain from Laura Mercier in Shy Pink.”

Powder:
“To finish the look, I used Dermablend Smooth Indulgence Mineral Finishing Powder in Dusk – only in the t-zone area.”

Dermablend Smooth Indulgence Mineral Finishing Powder gives the skin a youthful and natural healthy appearance while evening out skin tone and helping to minimize skin redness. A natural translucent coverage allows skin to breathe and remain comfortable. Absorbs skin oils and controls unwanted shine for hours.

Celebrity hair stylist Mark Townsend shares his styling tips for Lea Michele’s naturally wavy tresses which she sported at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards yesterday.

“For the Teen Choice Awards, I wanted Lea to look like a classic, sun-kissed California girl. I loved her Atelier Versace dress and wanted to show how a cool, young woman wears couture, so I kept her hair pretty natural with loads of texture.”

“I started by applying a large amount of Dove Style+Care Nourishing Curls Whipped Cream Mousse to Lea’s damp hair, and rough dried her hair with my hands and with the diffuser attachment on my T3 Blowdryer.”

“After the hair was dry, I re-applied a large dollop of the Mousse and scrunched it in again, creating really great texture. Next, I took 4-inch sections of hair and sprayed Dove Style+Care Thermal Replenishment Spray on the hair, then loosely wrapped the hair around a 1 1/2-inch curling iron for a few seconds to give the hair a loose wave.”

“After the hair was waved, I sprayed Oribe Après Beach Spray all over while scrunching the hair with my hands to create more texture. To keep her hair in place without weighing it down, I finished with Dove Style+Care Strength & Shine Flexible Hold Hairspray all over.”

Keira Knightley was radiant at the ‘Seeking A Friend For The End of The World’ LA premiere.

Part of that was down to her Valentino gown, but it was also partly because of her flawless makeup by Chanel celebrity makeup artist Katie Lee.

Katie decided the look should be bright and clean with a few gentle hues of colour.

Skincare: Keira’s skin was prepped with Chanel Hydra Beauty Serum, then Chanel UV Essentiel SPF 50 was applied for sun protection, but also to provide a base for makeup.

Foundation: Using a tiny amount of Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 evened out Keira’s skin tone and added luminescence to the complexion. On her cheek bones, the bridge of her nose, the inside corners of the eyes and the crest of the upper lip, Katie used Make Up Forever Up Light to create luminosity and brightness.

Blush: Terry Rose De Rose cheek tint added a pink shine, with Chanel Powder Blush in Tumulte to pop the pink on the apples.

Eye shadow: On Keira’s eyes, Katie added a peach-pink shadow to the outer third of her socket and blended it softly under the eye. In the centre of the lid, Chanel Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Abstraction (available November 2012) was the perfect pink peach to add some shimmery dimension.

Mascara: Lashes were curled with Chanel Precision Eyelash Curler, and given a light coat of Chanel Inimitable Waterproof Mascara just at the base of the lashes which helps hold the curl, then a selection of strip and individual lashes was used to create soft natural-looking lashes.

Lips: On the lips was a mixture of Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Liberte, mixed with Chanel Rouge Coco Baume.

Hair Piece: A red floral metal headband from the Chanel Cruise 2013 Collection provided the finishing touch.

She’s been clocking up some serious air miles on The Amazing Spider-Man world press and premiere tour and with each new city, actress and Revlon spokeswoman; Emma Stone has rocked a different coloured eye.

Rachel Goodwin, Emma’s make-up artist has got the art of the statement eye down to a tee.

By keeping to the same basic lined eye and adding a sweep of eye shadow in ever changing hues (depending on Emma’s outfit) over the brow bone, she has been able to create the illusion of a host of different looks over the course of the tour.

Goodwin, a Chanel make-up artist, always starts by tracing black liquid liner along the lash line and then applies a strip of false lashes followed by two coats of black mascara.

Then, using a quad eyeshadow palette, she lines the eye again with an angled brush using a grey or brown shade; next, using the colour of choice, she will blend and sweep from the eye socket all the way up and out along the brow bone.

Goodwin finishes off with a dab of Vaseline over the shadow on the outer part of the brow bone for a dewy glow.

Here are some of Emma’s favourite products.
