Sofia Coppola In Valentino - ‘Grace of Monaco’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere & Opening Ceremony

Sofia Coppola attended the opening ceremony and the ‘Grace of Monaco’ premiere during the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival this evening (May 14) as one of the jury members.

The filmmaker wore a Valentino Pre-Fall 2014 shimmering black long-sleeve embroidered tunic and short without the fur trim we saw in the look book.

Celine wedges, Chopard jewels and her Sofia Coppola for Louis Vuitton clutch completed her look.

She looks great. I didn’t expected her to wear a gown anyway.

I know this is her style but I kinda wonder what she look like in something other than a shift dress. She looks nice but nothing exciting.

Yes, it suits her style, but this is Cannes.

It suits her style and the silhouette, for which I personally would miss the belt, keeps it interesting. I am happy to reserve the right for someone behind the camera, even or especially a woman, as opposed to an actor or even star to not go all out on the glamour. As far as the accessories are concerned I’m okay with the wedges but find the clutch and the bracelet rather bla.

Definitely dull. I mean this is Cannes

I understand she is a jury member, not a star, but why not something a bit more exciting, spring/ summery fresh and stylish than this boring, shapeless, pre-fall dress and depressing all-black styling. She should’ve at least kept the belt for waist definition.

      Well said. I’m not impressed.

I love it. Look at the sleeves! She’s so effortlessly cool

    I like this !
So chic and cool at the same time.
Too bad she wasn’t able to walk with this shoes, it wasn’t great on TV.

She looks great. I’m thankful she chose something beautiful and not edgy.

She is actually wearing a tunic and shorts. I guess her LV days are over now that Marc is gone… Weird though, she still looks like she is wearing the same brand. Not sure if that is a good or a bad thing.

According to Valentino on social media, this is actually a top and shorts. I like it better now. Ha.

I’m distracted by how skinny her legs are. Has she always been that thin?
