Kim Basinger In Ralph Lauren Collection – ‘Grudge Match’ New York Screening

Kim Basinger In Ralph Lauren Collection - 'Grudge Match' New York ScreeningKim Basinger attended the ‘Grudge Match’ New York screening on Monday (December 16), which was held at the Ziegfeld Theater.

Perhaps taking her film’s hardcore, fight-club edge as inspiration, the actress stepped out in an Ralph Lauren Collection three-piece navy and cream pinstripe suit.

Opting to up the mannish ante of her tailored ensemble even more, she paired the suit with a baby-blue striped button-down along with a navy printed tie. The visible chain of a pocket watch served as her jewelry.

Kim completed the effect with spit-slick locks, tied into a low ponytail, along with the punch of a bold, ruby-red lip. Go big or go home was obviously her mantra for the evening, as she fully embraced a top-to-toe modish-masculine aesthetic.

Are you embracing this look as a knockout success, or is it just too costume-y for comfort?

I appreciate what Kim is going for here, it’s cool-in theory. But it hasn’t translated all that well in my opinion. I think she needed some more feminine elements to make it successful-like sexy stilettos, flowing hair, suggestively unbuttoned shirt-no tie, with perhaps a slight peek at a lace bra or camisole. Just my imagination running wild…

I like everything but the hair. It looks greasy, like she hadn’t washed it in weeks. The suit is cool.

Rocking the man-style look like a boss.

A TKO. Love it, from the part in her slicked ‘do to the knife-edged crease of her slacks. Not feeling the shoes; sky-high decadence might have made me completely lose consciousness.

Kim would look beautiful in anything but because I haven’t seen her for awhile on there’d carpet I wish she had worn something less costumey and more Hollywood old time glamour. She looks like she is auditioning for the role of Dick Tracey.

I think what I don’t like about this is her hair. Too severe and the part in the middle in not flattering.

Lose the tie, unbutton the first two buttons of the shirt and let her hair go and it would work. Too severe–sadly this is the oldest I have ever seen her look. Love Lee Ann’s Dick Tracey comment!

Too mannish to the point of looking costumey.

  15. kane December 17, 2013 at 19:58 #

Too costume-y for me indeed. And I don’t think the androgynous styling is doing her any favours. It emphasises her age.

    Horrible! I can’t agree w this look.
