Natalie Portman In Christian Dior Couture – Thor: The Dark Kingdom’ Berlin Premiere

Natalie Portman In Christian Dior Couture - Thor The Dark Kingdom' Berlin Premiere

Natalie Portman attended the ‘Thor: The Dark Kingdom’ Berlin premiere held at CineStar Potsdamer Platz in Germany on Sunday evening.

The actress turned to her favourite brand, Dior, who created this beautiful white strapless gown with a lightly pleated full skirt and black waistband which she styled with a black Dior clutch and Dior Fine jewels.

Looking every inch a movie star in her Princess gown, Natalie’s hair was swept up into a chic updo, opting for shimmering silver eye makeup with glossy lips rounding out the look.

Even with the two handsome co-stars Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth alongside her on this red carpet, I’m pretty sure everyone was captivated by the stunning actress in all her regal glory.

I like the full length shot. But the close-up made me wonder about the visible seaming (wrinkles?) on each side of the bodice. Not what I would expect.

I actually think it’s meant to be that way–rough edges–exposed darts and seams, etc. But don’t, like, quote me on it. :-)

She looks so lovely that I dare to make a comparison with Audrey Hepburn (even if I dislike this kind of comparison, to be honest). It’s only monday but this is BDOTW worthy, for me.

Not feeling the colour of the gown. A rich pink/magenta/fuschia/red would have looked great, especially as Natalie always looks gorgeous in those shades.

I don’t understand the presence of that big watch (I saw in other photos) she’s been wearing on every red carpets.

      Agree. Otherwise she looks pretty.

yes! i have noticed that she is always wearing that watch. it doesn’t always go with the outfit..

    Very regal

She is so beautiful! I think this is a great look, simple and crisp yet elegant!

This is so often the problem isn’t it? Custom made Dior looks are always alright but looks straight from the runway are pretty much guaranteed to be a flop.
I like the shape and fit of the gown but the colour washes Nat out a little. It’s nothing amazing, I’m just glad its not too long to be perfectly honest. There’s minimalism and then there’s just boring, sadly for me, this is the latter.

    • LeeAnn October 28, 2013 at 13:38 #

that’s because she wears (borrows) press samples for the runway pieces and they aren’t tailored so they never fit wheere this one was.
But I agree this to me is just very dull.

    • AnderBoBo October 28, 2013 at 13:44 #

I agree that this gown is more on the boring side and Natalie’s natural beauty if really doing all the heavy lifting here.

      • KatieKate October 29, 2013 at 07:26 #

        My thoughts exactly. Exactly.

This is why I think Natalie’s one of our modern-day Audrey Hepburns! (The others being Lily Collins and Allison Williams.)

    lovely! BDOTW nominee

Terrible. This looks like they assembled the patterns because they ran out of time to make the actual dress on a Project Runway ball gown challenge. Raf Simons and his crappy construction and design at his best. Dior is weeping somewhere.

    • Lee October 28, 2013 at 14:08 #

+1000000 I do not like anything Raf Simons has done so far for Dior

    She looks so regal here

Absolutely beautiful, loving the gorgeous dramatic full skirt, the contrasting black accents, and her simple elegant styling, clean yet impactful. Finally a wonderful look, the kind I’ve been waiting for from Natalie. BDOTW worthy.

totally unoriginal, she needs to call the girls over at Rodarte and get her mojo back asap.

  15. TeaAtTwo October 30, 2013 at 10:44 #

    I love this.

  16. dee October 30, 2013 at 20:32 #

    This is boring.

  17. EmmaWoodhouse October 31, 2013 at 17:05 #

Exquisitely beautiful, an homage to Audrey Hepburn. I love it!

  18. Bailey December 14, 2014 at 18:11 #

Simple colours and fit and the volume on the bottom makes it less boring
