Diane Kruger In Giambattista Valli Couture – 2013 Vanity Fair Party

Diane Kruger In Giambattista Valli Couture - 2013 Vanity Fair Party

Never one to shy away from taking a fashion risk or two on the red carpet, Diane Kruger opted for a very unique look at the 2013 Vanity Fair Party, held at Sunset Tower on Sunday evening.

The German actress wore a Giambattisa Valli Spring 2013 Couture dress.

Her caped long-sleeve white dress with black velvet beading and asymmetrical hemline is yet another tricky look which Diane pulls off with ease.

Keeping her look simple she styled her hair in a center parted bun with a neutral makeup.

Faberge jewels, Christian Louboutin ‘Paulina’ white pumps with a black trim and Roger Vivier Boite de Nuit gold and black metal clutch accessorized her look.

Was this an fashion-forward risk that paid off, or does this look not work for you?

I was missing a Giambattista Valli Couture look at the Oscars, and I’m glad Diane was the one to bring it. The risk pays off because she can pull this off with her amazing sense of style and way of owning the clothes. Would not have worked for the big show but is a great option for the after party. A stand out look.

I like this better on the model. Why does it look so big on Diane Kruger? Maybe it’s the angle? With all the dresses out this season, she could’ve picked a better option.

I think I dislike the shoes even more. Although the colors go with the dress, it just looks jilting.

Not liking this. A rare miss for her. It is too blocky.

I agree with you. Not flattering and it makes her legs look stumpy, which i am sure they are not. Don’t really like it on the model either.

agree with you,too boxy and not flattering at all

I agree with you all. It seems ill-fitted and not flattering at all.
          A huge miss

I agree with you all also, I don’t like the shape on Diane or on the model.

  4. TeaAtTwo February 26, 2013 at 02:47 #

I love this, she looks amazing.

  5. Christine February 26, 2013 at 03:13 #

This look is gorgeous. Even BDOTW worthy.

  6. Marybeth February 26, 2013 at 03:21 #

I don’t like the dress on either the model or Diane. The cut is much too boxy for the high-contrast, black-and-white print.
I do not her shoes for an Oscar night party. They look like something you’d wear to a daytime lunch or even the office.
But from the neck up she looks great!

Generally Diane can pull anything off, but this immensely unflattering sack does nothing for her. Really dislike it. The styling is great but the dress is awful.

  8. Aline February 26, 2013 at 03:58 #

I like the texture of the dress and that’s about it. The silhouette is horrible and her hairstyle is too harsh for a mini dress.

  9. Kane February 26, 2013 at 04:49 #

She took the risk but it does not pay off! The proportion of the gown on her is not right!

  10. Yeliz February 26, 2013 at 05:40 #

I would’ve loved this head to toe, but this dress is making her wider than she normally is. I don’t hate it, but I’m not in love, either.

  11. serapart February 26, 2013 at 06:08 #

    love it!

  12. Cheryl February 26, 2013 at 07:55 #

The angle of this shot makes the look slightly unflattering. That being said, Diane can pull off everything she wears and this is no exception. I think she chose a good shoe but not a “wow” shoe. I’m missing some height in this look.

  13. Noemi February 26, 2013 at 09:26 #

It totally paid off. Love it!!

  14. Becky February 26, 2013 at 10:02 #

This looks terrible. She looks pregant or something. She is usually so beautiful!

  15. Fiona-Brasil February 26, 2013 at 11:05 #

A rare misstep from Diane, normally so fabulous.

  16. Neli February 26, 2013 at 11:15 #

    I like it!

  17. Lei February 26, 2013 at 11:33 #

Absolutely love it! I think seeing this dress in real life or in motion would have us all drooling over it! The picture does it little justice! I love Diana for always taking a risk!

Love the outfit, love her! :)

I like the idea of it but I wish the cape was in a uniform (black or white) color because it does make for some strange proportions in the dress pattern.

  20. Bárbara February 26, 2013 at 12:36 #

I really tried to like it, but for some reason I just don’t… I agree with some people who commented above, it looks too bi on her. That being said, I dont like the dress on the model either.

  21. dee February 26, 2013 at 13:33 #

I don’t like this dress on her.

  22. Agathe February 26, 2013 at 13:34 #

It just makes her look boxy…
    I’m disappointed!

  23. Moxie February 26, 2013 at 14:55 #

That cape is making her look boxy. Not a fan of this one.

  24. kathryn February 26, 2013 at 17:53 #

J’adore Diane!! This dress is amazing and definitely a risk that paid off!

  25. Nat39 February 26, 2013 at 18:35 #

    Awful. Major fail for Diane.

  26. Nat February 27, 2013 at 14:36 #

She is breath taking. I love it!!

  27. gabis February 27, 2013 at 18:56 #
