Samantha Barks made a striking silhouette on the red carpet Sunday at the 2013 Oscars held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
The ‘Les Misérables’ actress wore a sleek Valentino Spring 2013 gown with a plunging neckline. The virtual unknown is taking her first trip to the Academy Awards seriously, and has succeeded in turning quite a few heads with her sexy look.
While a neckline this low could easily look trashy on an actress with a curvier figure, the svelte Samantha absolutely stuns, and fills it out just enough to look even better than the runway model in my book.
Her Forevermark statement pendent necklace and undone updo finish off her ‘sexy unknown’ look, and you can be sure that after tonight, Samantha Barks will be unknown no more!

Loved this.
I’m bored half to death with this look.
Nice but too boring for the oscars.

WTF is going on with her! How come she is so skinny suddenly! She had suck beautiful curves just a few months ago. Gosh… And the gown is a disappointment too. Looks like no one is having fun on the red carpet tonight.
That’s simple glamour. I love it.
No Chanel on the carpet tonight…
love it, simple and elegant. one of the best of the night!
“Looks better than on the runway” is always a sign of success. I agree that this is definitely a “Brit makes successful entrance in Hollywood” moment for Sam.
Nice but nothing exciting or memorable.

Not liking it. It’s boring, for one thing, and for another I don’t like the revealing plunge neck on anyone. She is lovely, but all I like is the necklace. The hair is too messy.
Really boring and the chest puffing pose is a bit silly.
Lovely but not memorable. Would have been better at a lesser awards show, but not the oscars. Go big or go home.
+1 – 100% agree! I guess she was playing it safe because it was her first Oscars, but she really could have used the opportunity to make a real impression and intrigue people as to who she was
So boring. Can’t even say it’s a nice look, because it’s so not for the Oscars.
Also, one of the best of the night. Simple, sexy, elegant. Just right and just daring enough. I also loved her performance dress.
No. Boring dress, scary cleavage, bad hair.
Her personal style seems to be edgy and minimal, just the way I DIG IT! I love this, of course I would’ve liked to see an Oscar-worthy vibe, but she still looks amazing, I can’t complain.
Boring!
The necklace makes this look. Very dramatic and sexy without being trashy. I’d say she got noticed and in a good way.
Sexy, but indeed boring. She was amazing during the Les Miserables performance though. Great voice.
Her figure and the necklace make this look great in my book. Could have looked dull on someone else, but on someone as fantastically gorgeous as her, it is classic and beautiful.
Wow, she looks fantastic and is so beautiful! I loved her in the movie and I am so happy for her success, she was also wonderful during the Oscars performance.
