Katie Holmes joined Blake Lively on the red carpet for the 12-12-12 Concert Benefiting The Robin Hood Relief Fund To Aid The Victims Of Hurricane Sandy at Madison Square Garden in New York City last night.
There has long been an A.P.B for Katie’s red carpet mojo and it appears to be still at large judging from this look.
Wearing a Tom Ford Fall 2012 look, which we’ve seen a few times before, even on the 2011 US X Factor winner Melanie Amaro last week as she performed on the show, Katie fails to excite in this look.
The purple velvet knee-length dress with sheer sleeves would’ve looked amazing on her in her heyday.
Her hair is so poorly styled, if styled at all, and I’m so o.v.e.r. those Tom Ford padlock pumps.
I really wanted to love it.

Why would anyone want to wear a dress which makes you look like you have an extra pair of boobs. Sorry Tom but that dress is poorly designed. Like those lace monstrosities from his debut collection (purple, yellow and green one, yuks).
I have the same feelings. I wanted to love it too, but I don’t.
I really dislike this dress–tacky and odd-looking. The only thing I like is the color. The dress, and the rest of Katie’s styling, is tragic.
Never really like this dress to begin with. Not a good look.
This dress is a Fashion Police delight. It looks like one of those Halloween costumes designed to fake ‘sixpack’ abs to the wearer! But her demeanor is also seriously lacking – she has little confidence, isn’t selling anything. Instead of looking quirkily charming, she looks like a sad doll/fashion victim.

Oh dear, doesn’t the woman have girlfriends to her to shake things up and bring back the sassy 2008 era Katie? She looks as if she’s desperate to be anywhere but there. The colour is gorgeous but the rectangles just look singed on. Those Tom Ford padlock pumps have never really worked for me.
Post-tom is doing her fashion sense some goodness ! she looks amazing
Yes, I think so too! She looks happy and really nice.
her and victoria beckham need to become friends again, she was so stylish when she as victoria were BFFs.
I love the color, but that’s about it. Her pose is baffling me, she looks like an ‘S’.
Not a good or flattering look.
Someone really needs to track down that red carpet mojo!

She’s just not sexy enough for Tom Ford. Bad hair and pose. The dress is beautiful and dangerous at the same time!
The Tom Ford woman is definitely not girl next door. The right makeup and hair is required otherwise. This look fails in my books.
The dress is awkward and in the wrong fabric. Her hair looks slept in. This is sad.
blah and what a pose!
Nope. This is a not a dress one tries to tame. Either wear it in it’s runway version or move on.

Katie – Why cut it short if a gown could’ve covered your cankles? It was an awful look. She can’t design or style herself. Some fashion designer…
She was always a style tragedy, regardless of being friends with Mrs Backham, getting married or getting divorced. I love the look on model, but Katie makes it look really cheap
