Odette Annable gets my vote.
Fan is enchanting but her look is bit heavy and overly theatrical. She and Huo Si Yan are my runners-up.
Wish Angelababy had kept the boobage under control.
I gave Odette my vote too, and Fan and Angelababy were also my runners up
but didn’t get my vote for the same reasons. LOL we thought alike this week. Also a very honorable mention for Scarlett, Camilla and Victoria from me.
I loved Fan’s outfit but her makeup is an overkill for me (geisha-like).
+1
I’m not a fan of the fact that a gown wins almost every week but I had to give my vote to Angelababy. She was best dressed just last week but she looked sensational again.
I’m surprised that Catherine in Matthew Williamson or Taylor Schilling in Peter Pilotto couldn’t make it to the poll.
Anyway, have a great weekend FC!
thanks
you too
I think Catherine didn’t make it because everyone thought she was wearing black pumps and carrying a black clutch when they were actually forest green. That’s all people did, complain about that.
I dont think more people knowing that her pumps were green would have made a difference. They still were to heavy and familiar.
I voted for Victoria. I love her outfit head to hoof
Can’t believe I’m picking a black dress but Charlize rocked her Dion Lee number. Hot!
I voted for Fan Bing Bing because no one else blew me away. I thought this week’s BDOTW would be better. Hmph.
I voted for Chloe, I thought she looked so pretty.
Have a great weekend FC!
you too
Huo Si Yan in Gucci for me. Just lovely!
+1 with VB as the runner up.
a little shocked anja rubik didn’t make the list! that dress, those shoes..so, so perfect!
Fan Bing Bing, I always love someone who does somethign different & memorable, yet still pulls it off with such elegance & grace, which, when she chooses to, she does very well, so she was an easy pick for me.
!
As per always, amazing blogging this week, nto sure if it’s just me but every day I seem to get home and there are more posts than the last day, even on slow fashion days. It is beyond impressive & enjoyable to read! Have a lovely weekend, hopefully the weather will improve soon
Voted for Victoria because I just l love her so much But my fave is angelababy
LOVED Huo Si Yan’s Gucci dress, does it remind anyone else of Anna Popplewell’s armani dress?
I was just about to vote when my 7 years old sister entered the room. I pointed to the screen and asked “Larissa, which one is the prettiest one?”. She skimmed the pictures with a very srs bsns look on her face and kept on saying “no, no, no, hmm okay, no, no, no, no”, And then, she finally got to Angelababy’s gown and her face lit up and she left out a “WOW. This one!”. Laughing, I asked her why and she gave me an “isn’t it obvious?” look and replied “because she looks like a princess!”
Later on, she got her attention back to the screen and asked me which one I thought was the funniest one. I was like “I don’t know” but she pointed to Fan’s dress, laughing histerically of how funny she thinks it looks.
She also really liked Chloe’s dress, what I guess proves that Chloe did indeed finally dress like someone her age. Anyway, I thought I should share this.
I did end up voting for Angelababy. But my runner ups were actually Huo Si Yan and Camilla.
Have a great weekend, FC, you surely deserve it
thank you … you too
Haha that is so cute
Thanks for sharing!
It’s a no brainer for me: Fan Bing Bing – Very dramatic look
Wow, the asians are really neck to neck this week, Huo Si Yan, Fan Bing Bing and Angelababy..
I ended up voting for Fan Bing Bing though.. If I think about it, Angelababy does look amazing, but it’s not as groundbreaking as Bing Bing’s look.
I voted for Angelababy but i regret it and wished I’d voted for Huo Si Yan instead. At first glance she looks amazing, but after I looked at it again,I decided that there was too much cleavage. The fit around the bust is a bit too loose, had it been pulled up and gave more coverage, she surely is this week’s best dress.
Huo Si Yan in Gucci is my winner.
Have a stunning weekend, FC!
You too x
A gown? Again? This is not a BD(in a gown)OTW poll.
And is it the first time that Middleton is not featured in the poll even though she attended an event this week? Because that would be great
don’t understand why gowns always make it into the best dressed poll. Angel baby’s gown is hideous and looks like something a british celebrity would wear to the Soap awards…The only well dressed person on this poll is scarlet johannson, charlize, and chloe the rest of the looks are predictable and tacky. I mean how many times has that lace jumpsuit actually been worn? and Victoria Beckham’s look is just horrid.
Eh? The red carpet is the one place that one can wear a gown. What a strange way to open your argument. This is not a street style poll
I don’t quite agree with you, Amelia. I think that yes, gowns always seem to win every single week, but I don’t think it’s fair to say that Angelababy’s dress is “hideous” or “British” – it’s a great looking gown that many people like, and if gowns are not part of red carpet awards, then I’m not sure what your definition of Best dressed is. Like FC said, this is a BDOTW award, not a BDOTW in street style award. You may not like them, but I think glam gowns that offer a certain stage presence deserve to be on the poll.
I agree, this is a red carpet blog and gowns are much appreciated and needed. The thing is that knowing that gowns always take over it isn’t fair to other looks that deserve to be on the spotlight.Maybe and to make it fair if there were two polls with a special gowns poll, they can then compete against each other. It’s nothing but a suggestion and I have a lot of respect to what FC does. And @Amelia, hideous?Really?Come on!
Thanks for your comment.
Please note that there will only ever be one poll for BDOTW
This may be off topic for this week, but I just saw that Diane Kruger is on the judging panel for Cannes Film Festival. Day after day of one of the most exciting women to grace the red carpet = Yippee! I hope she pulls out all the stops.
I thought that Huo Se Yan looked stunning, and Fan Bingbing too; after tossing and turning my vote over and over, I gave it to Fan Bingbing cause her look was harder to pull off.
Huo Si Yan’s dress really won me over. I don’t usually look twice at Gucci.
Kristen Wiig looks great with darker hair, and it’s a welcome change to see her wearing black rather than beige or greige … but that jumpsuit doesn’t seem worthy of a berth.
Heidi Klum had one of her best outings for ages with the Temperley London – improving on the model by going with a lining.
Fc I think there should be two categories to the BDOTW title that separates the gowns from the “rather” less formal attires. It’s very easy to love the gown over any of the other dresses so it’ll justify the other attires as well.
I personally believe anyone can look good in a gown but looking good in other ensembles is what takes the cake so maybe this way the less formals will get justified attention too from the readers.
love u loads! xx
Sorry but I do not think this is a good idea.
Gowns are part of red carpet dressing just as cocktail dresses, jumpsuit, suits and less formal attire. To give them separate polls would be overly fussy, unnecessary and tideous.
I am baffled that you want them separated. It makes no sense to me. The idea that anyone can look great in a gown baffles me further. I personally don’t like Angelababy’s gown. I’m shocked it is winning this poll.
“The idea that anyone can look good in a gown baffles me further”
You needn’t be baffled. I was merely suggesting that it’s easy for a celebrity to work a gown because the gown itself can easily do all the talking for them whereas working looks such as menswear etc on the red carpet and pulling them off is what I appreciate more. G’day.
We will need to agree to disagree. As I disagree with your follow up comment too.
Gee, this is a Red Carpet fashion awards site, not a Less Formal fashion awards site. I am happy that FC keeps things fresh and does not get over-legalistic about things by featuring styles (and the guys) on and off the red carpet. But I am glad that there is only one BDOTW poll.
And it is not unheard of for non-gowns to win the week — as with any look, if they get enough votes or if the look is Critic’s Choice.
Huo Si Yan in Gucci for me. She looks spectacular.
I loved Angelababy’s look last week and I voted for her in BDOTW but I seriously dislike the dress above. It’s part Disney princess and part wardrobe malfunction.
Fan Bingbing looks gorgeous in that dress!
Scarlett Johansson in Mary Katrantzou is the best this week, grest dress
Still annoyed that Coco Rocha wore ugly shoes and didn’t make it this week, because otherwise I would have voted for her. Or Anja Rubik. But hey, models almost never look bad, so I guess it was just a dull week.
It’s between Fan and Huo Si Yan for me. Tilda was also a highlight.
I really enjoy this blog/site and think it’s intelligently done and serves well as entertainment and fashion criticism.
thank you x
Wow FC..I noticed your comment on the results post so I came here to read the comments and see what the fuss is about..and from what I can gather people dont want gowns in the BDOTW poll of a red carpet fashion website…….riiiiiiight…cause that makes sense :-\ Keep doing what you do FC love your work!
Thanks Bec x
Totally agree. I came here to read the comments as well and am STUNNED that people want two separate polls! I mean really? It’s “Red Carpet Fashion Awards”… that means that any and everything worn on the red carpet is eligible! And FC has done a great job of including street styles and “off duty” styles as well. Why would there need to be two polls? Just pick your favourite of the week! It’s “easy for anyone to look good in a gown”?? Really? Why does E! Television devote a whole programme to pointing out red carpet mishaps after such “gown-heavy” awards ceremonies such as the Oscars etc? Sheesh!!! Agree to disagree people…
Everyone is entitled to their opinions. You needn’t be so emotional and rather rude. They are called “opinions” for a reason and you ought to respect that. I respect FC’s opinion because that is appropriate to her and I POLITELY stated mine being a fellow reader and fan. End of story. It’s not the end of the world dear.
+1
Totally agree. It’s funny seeing you people get so offended over a harmless input by a reader. There are ways to express your disagreement and I think you need some grooming classes. Highly immature I must say and I’m very disappointed to see this on this blog.
+1
Damn Lara girl, somebody’s high on hormones! well said Kiran. couldn’t agree more. opinions are to be stated, not imposed! sheeeesh back at lara lol
