Cast Of ‘Grown-ish’ Visit The Empire State Building

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Cast Of 'Grown-ish' Visits The Empire State Building

Jordan Buhat, Emily Arlook, Chloe Bailey, Trevor Jackson, Halle Bailey and Luka Sabbat of the cast of ‘Grown-ish’ visited The Empire State Building on Wednesday (January 2) in New York City.

I always find it interesting how the guys are all bundled up, while the girls braved the elements in this situation. And who can blame the girls, when they are rocking such uber cool looks.

I would want to show them off too.

Jordan Buhat: While I like the tan and the beige combo, I wish Jordan had opted for a cashmere sweater instead of a shirt here so the look didn’t feel so plain.

Emily Arlook: Plain is not a tag I would attribute to Emily’s Mary Katrantzou Fall 2018 dress. Inspired by the beginnings of modernism, the ‘Alta’ dress references an iconic poster from the Bauhaus period, yet the lettering and colour blocking pattern feels essentially modern. This figure-skimming style that features a neat high neckline and extra long sleeves – a house signature – was effortlessly styled with ankle boots.

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex In ASOS & Karen Walker – New Zealand Arrival

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex In ASOS & Karen Walker - New Zealand Arrival

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in New Zealand on Sunday (October 28), having said farewell to Sydney.

They visited the newly unveiled UK war memorial and Pukeahu National War Memorial Park, where they met with dignitaries and laid a wreath.

Meghan change before landing into an ASOS maternity dress, styled with a trench by noted New Zealand fashion designer Karen Walker.

I’m so grateful for the outerwear, as the tailored coat with its glam-meets-utility detailing brought a modernity to the look which is often lacking in my opinion.

Birks jewels and the same Sarah Flint shoes she wore to the Invictus Games’ Wheelchair Basketball Finals completed her look, along with a fresh new hairdo.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

There were so many great menswear looks to take the red-carpet stage over the weekend.

Caleb McLaughlin: At the ripe age of 16, this ‘Stranger Things’ star is showing his incredible flair for style in this 3.1 Phillip Lim paint-splattered ensemble at the 2017 American Music Awards on Sunday (November 19) in LA. I love how he fully committed to the look, right down to the shoes—and that this is both youthful and fashion-forward at the same time.

Harry Styles: At the 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Monday (November 20) in Shanghai, China, Harry did what he does best combining retro and modern style influences in this Givenchy Spring 2018 mint suit and matching silk shirt paired with Givenchy boots.

Machine Gun Kelly: This Comme des Garçons ensemble took the abstract, paint-splattered effect to even greater lengths at the American Music Awards. But, despite the exaggerated elements, the effect came off as directionally cool rather than comical.

2017 BET Awards Red Carpet Roundup

For better or worse, there were many more attention-stealing looks at the 2017 BET Awards in LA on Sunday night (June 25)—many of which garnered stares for all the wrong reasons.

Dascha Polanco: White-hot was the M.O. for the ‘Orange Is The New Black’ star in her Bishme R. Cromartie pantsuit. The plunge made it typically sexy, but that architectural ruffle was like fashion’s version of whipped cream on top.

Sasha Lane: The young starlet has not shied away from directional looks—or tribal makeup—and this Proenza Schouler Fall 2017 ensemble styled with a Sergio Rossi ‘SR1’ sandal and silver python Proenza Schouler ‘Curl’ clutch strongly continued in that experimental vein. Those who don’t love this look will likely only see trash bag-inspired pants. Regardless, I wish the sheer top had fit her better.

Tamar Braxton: To go with her platinum ’do, Tamar wore rhinestones and see-through lace in this Walter Mendez gown that won’t pass the test for those with sheer fatigue syndrome. Was anyone else getting a strong Cher vibe?

Anna Diop In ASOS & Elisabetta Franchi – ’24: LEGACY’ Premiere Event

Anna Diop attended the ’24: LEGACY’ premiere event on Monday (January 30) in New York City.

The actress ushered in a new mode of elegance wearing an ASOS tabard with Elisabetta Franchi trousers and Cesare Paciotti shoes.

This is such a cool look. Everything about it seems effortless and well put together.

I’m taking notes.

Hailee Steinfeld in Versace & ASOS - 2015 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball

Hailee Steinfeld continued so showcase her musical talents on stage at the Z100’s iHeartRadio Jingle Ball in New York on Friday (December 11) and Hot 99.5’s Jingle Ball on Monday (December 14) in Washington, D.C.

Z100’s iHeartRadio Jingle Ball 2015: Her first look from Versace’s Spring 2016 collection breaks into urban realms with its netted top while possessing a sexy, feminine quality via the thigh-high slit.

Hot 99.5’s Jingle Ball 2015: While I haven’t been the biggest supporter of her style shift since becoming a singer, I have to say I love this cropped jumpsuit from ASOS. Not only the sleek style, but the patent leather boots and cat-eye makeup which helps brings this modern look together. I hope to see more like this please.
