The Gentlemen of ‘The Gentlemen’ Season 2 Premiere

We’ve already talked about the women who attended The Gentlemen Season 2 premiere in London, so it’s only right that we turn our attention to the gentlemen. And fittingly for this series, tailoring was the order of the evening, although everyone had a very different interpretation.

The Colour Gentleman

Leading man Theo James opted for a teal double-breasted custom Casely-Hayford CHRISTOPHE suit, the colour combination is what immediately caught my attention. The burgundy patterned tie and Church’s Burwood shoes play beautifully against the teal, while his Blancpain watch completes the look.

This is classic tailoring, but the palette prevents it from feeling stuffy. The proportions are also spot-on, particularly the relaxed trousers, which sit perfectly over those brogues.

The Italian Gentleman

New cast member Michele Morrone was, of course, dressed in Dolce & Gabbana, wearing a look from the Sartoria Collection.

What immediately caught my attention was the silhouette. Michele is usually a slim-fit-suit kind of guy, so seeing him embrace this roomier double-breasted jacket and wide-leg trousers feels like a significant shift. The pinstripes add to the old-school Italian tailoring feel, while the open white shirt is classic Morrone.

The Sheer Gentleman

You could not miss Giancarlo Esposito in his Denzil Patrick look.

Not many men could sell me a sheer button-down shirt on the red carpet, but Giancarlo does with ease. It’s all in the swag and the attitude.

The coat, however, was an even easier sell. Between the pattern, length and his signature hat, this was easily one of the most distinctive menswear looks of the night.

The Country Gentleman

Vinnie Jones looked every inch the English country gent in his brown checked double-breasted suit, matching tie and flat cap.

Yes, he looks ready for a day of pheasant shooting before heading back to the country house for dinner, but considering the world of The Gentlemen, could there have been a more appropriate look? Even the burgundy brogues fit the brief.

The Classic Gentleman

Hugh Bonneville opted for a beautifully cut navy double-breasted suit, but it’s the yellow patterned tie that makes this memorable for me.

It’s such a simple addition, yet the colour immediately lifts the navy-and-white combination.

Harry Goodwins wore an AMIRI black monogram double-breasted suit, with R.M. Williams Santa Fe boots completing the look.
