Michelle Obama Gives Summer Tweed a Colourful Update

Michelle Obama and journalist Michele Norris, senior contributing editor for MSNBC and founder of The Race Card Project, hosted a second event at the Martha’s Vineyard Author Series, where they discussed the former First Lady’s book, The Look.

This time, Michelle wore a Camilla and Marc carmine tweed midi dress. The vivid colour gives the tweed a lighter, fresher feel that works beautifully for summer. And thankfully, we got a standing picture this time, giving us a much better view of the full look.

The white Prada pumps were the ideal summer punctuation. I was never the biggest fan of white pumps, but between Zendaya’s influence and seeing them trend on the red carpet, my appreciation has grown. And there’s no denying that against the warm carmine shade, they feel fresh and completely right here.

Following the more relaxed look she wore for her first appearance, this felt like a smart follow-up for the second event, while still keeping that easy summer mood.
