Which Charlize Theron ‘The Odyssey’ Press Tour Look Was Your Favourite?
When the cast for The Odyssey was announced, I was naturally excited. A film featuring so many fashion favourites felt destined to deliver a memorable press tour, so my expectations were high.

With Charlize Theron involved, I knew we would get a few impeccably tailored blazers along the way—that has long been part of her signature style. What I wasn’t expecting was to be so underwhelmed by her opening Givenchy look. It completely took the wind out of my sails.
The after-party look was a slight improvement, but it wasn’t until Paris that things really clicked. Her Tom Ford look was, in many ways, the most quintessentially Charlize outfit of the entire press tour. Sleek, sharp and understated, it reminded us why tailoring remains her strongest fashion language.

Ironically, some of her street-style looks were my favourites. Her Chloé pap walk ensemble had that laid-back cool, and while I know many of you didn’t share my enthusiasm for the Bottega Veneta look, I still think it deserves a place among her strongest appearances.

As for the final custom Dior look in New York, it should have been the defining fashion moment of the tour. On paper, it had everything going for it. It sat comfortably within Charlize’s established style, yet the tailoring let her down—surprisingly for a custom look.
That, ultimately, sums up Charlize Theron’s The Odyssey press tour for me. The ingredients were all there, but the reality never quite matched my expectations.
Her custom Dior gown in Paris delivered the glamour I had been hoping to see from the outset.
My ranking: Tom Ford, custom Dior (Paris) and Bottega Veneta.
